Did not expect this kind of valuation from a veteran CFs member! My expectation for the value we get for Wood is salary matching a random rotation player or two. First round pick in the teens would be a bonus.
Rockets Eric Gordon / C (more) Wood / one (2nd rd pick) x Raptors Dragic / C Boucher / Precious Achiuwa / two (1st rd picks) / one (2nd rd pick)
There may be a better comparison out there, but the Hawks gave up a 2020 FRP* and a 2026 SRP for Clint Capela on a similar contract with the same amount of time left on it. I think that’s probably what they can expect. *Edit: turned out to be #17
Don't think frp is possible with that poisonous behavior. We'll likely dump him for an international stash pick
BTW, op is one bipolar fan. You don't start a tantrum thread at wanting wood out ASAPGFTOOMFG!!!! Then expect three FRP for your trash. Great topics. Respect +infinity +1
It's becoming more and more likely every minute that the Kings are just gonna blow it up and ship everyone out that isn't Haliburton. Fox could definitely be had for the right package, Wood is definitely not that package though. They offered Fox in a deal today for Simmons
Whaaaaat? Finally, somebody with some sense on this board. I can not believe it. A guy who gives us a consistent 20 and 10, can shoot the 3 and guard the parameter AND people are trying to trade him. I don't get it
PJ started on a championship team He's the ultimate team, glue guy that willingly does the dirty work to help win I don't think either statement will ever be true for CWood
Guys, Why do you all think Morey was willing to pay Minny (5) FRPs for Jimmy Butler?? FRPs are a GAMBLE. If you are sending out a good player like Wood to a playoff team, most of those picks are going to be in the lower 20's, which means they are going to be avg players at best....so you lose the trade.
Y’all are out of your minds. Hell fetch a few second rounders at best. He has not proven to be a winner and really anything but that. He doesn’t play D and he’s full of mental mistakes. Talented offensive player who plays selfishly at times…that’s dime a dozen in this league. Oh and there are MUCH better post players available who will command the FRPs. Turner, Sabonis, etc. We’ll be lucky to get picks for him. He’s a UFA in a few years? Maybe he’s more attractive if his contract was a steal but it’s not even a great situation.
“Wood gives you a consistent 20-10 threat!!”Number of games he’s actually had at least 20 points and 10 rebounds this season: 12 out of 42 possible games.
Shhhh... Don't you want Ben Simmons and a couple picks on your team?? Just nod and smile when op posts another meltdown aggro thread.
I think if we were only offered a late 1st for C-Wood I'd rather hold on to him. What would be ideal to me would be (from a perennial bad team" a young, athletic backup 4-5 type and a future 1st with little to no protection on it. But there is NO WAY in the world I would want Fox on this team! Talk about bad value! Here's Bill Simmons and crew having a "draft" of the "worst" contracts in the NBA. Guess where Fox comes in? At #4, right behind John Wall and AHEAD of Russell Westbrick!!! (the Wall-Fox talk starts around 12:45)
I can't wait until we get rid of this big man. I don't need him guarding the perimeter while forcing smaller guards to expend more energy guarding the taller big man cause he's too much of a pu$$y to play his role. No screens and always camped out at the perimeter. He gets the points I give u that, but he refuses to play the big man role to help everybody else. If u watched the game today, u would have seen poor mathews and other guard gobert while wood is out in the perimeter playing d. He's not as fast as the guards to guard the perimeter but he does that rather than guard a dude his size
First of all Morey didnt pay Minny 5 frp for Jimmy Butler. He never had Butler on his roster. Secondly low frps are still assets you csn use to sweeten the pot in a trade, for example Sengun who most people here value more than Wood was obtained for 2 protected frps. They have value. Third, Wood is 26 and expecting a max deal. He doesnt fit the timeline.
