This may have already been discussed, but I didn't see a thread on it. I actually expected us to get Dwight or Bynum and include 4-5 PFs in the deal. Now, no Dwight deal. What do we do with all of our PFs? Change the game?
The scary thing is we actually COULD play all our pfs at the same time, and I'm not even joking. White Parsons Jones Patterson Motie with a couple of pfs to spare
1. Given that Orlando's 2 draft picks in 2012 are PF/Cs (Andrew Nicholson and Kyle O'Quinn), it is doubtful a Howard trade would involve multiple PFs. 2. The way I figure things, here's what will happen: you'll have at least 3 of them in the rotation-- one of them will start at PF, one will be backup PF, and a third will be backup center. So, that's 3 out of 4 of Patterson, Jones, Motiejunas and White. Among that group, whoever is not ready to play will be out of the rotation or sent to the D-League. Beyond these guys, no one else is really relevant.
So its the young PFs that have to suffer here because Morey decided to stockpile them like they were powerbars before nuclear fallout? So either 1/2 of them are cut/jobless or stuck on this roster with 3 other PFs, trying to find minutes? Their development will be stunted and the locker room will be a mess. I guess its fine - better chance at a high lottery pick I guess.
the bright side if all the pfs start we will be great on the boards. we can lead the league in rebounding and loses, nba first, lets make history
One gets cut, one gets traded, and one gets booted to the D League. I think that leaves us with two, Perfect.
We better keep Patterson cause he is the only natural PF we have. Royce and TJ can play 3/4 while D-Mo can play 4/5. Parsons is set at the 3, dont need to give him any minutes and PF or PG (I cant believe people think he and Royce can play PG).
On the contrary, we need to get rid of Patterson ASAP. Every one of those guys has a higher ceiling than he does, we don't need him taking up minutes. What does a "natural PF" even mean anyway? All of those guys you listed can play the position and I'd argue the 4 is the best spot for every one of them.
