Perhaps the most consequential plank calls for a constitutional amendment to require that candidates for statewide office carry a majority of Texas’ 254 counties to win an election, a model similar to the U.S. electoral college.

    this is incredibly absurd

How likely is it that something like this could actually be implemented?

My suspicion is that people that want split EC votes have done the calculations and figured out that splitting the ECs in key states will result in a republican victory.

Still seems insane that a voter in Wyoming vote counts so much more than a voter in California.

On my scorecard, I have Trump dead or in a mental care facility. Until either of those outcomes, Trump is running for POTUS, since that is the best paying grift.

But there is only 1 3 Wyoming EC votes viz-a-viz Cali's 54 EC votes.

My bigger problem is that the larger states are winner take all which disenfranchises the minority voters in those states, eg the Ds in Texas will essentially not have their vote counted for POTUS ... or at least until the Ds start winning state wide elections again.

I guess it's same as last time. January 6th won't happen again because of increased security, but I expect some level of violent protests. I do think Trump losing twice will be enough to abandon him as a candidate though. He could still be a potential king maker for the party if he supports another candidate in 2028.

But how many people are represented by those 3 Wyoming EC votes versus California's 54 EC votes? Why should someone in Wyoming have that much power in their vote than people in California, Illinois, or Texas for that matter? Especially when close elections may pivot on those three EC votes?

ive read about how dead inca kings were mummified and carried into battle atop thrones. their kings were gods and they believed their mummified corpse still held divine power. i can see the GOP doing something similar with trumps corpse. trotting him out at their convention to nominate him in all future presidential campaigns.

If an election is decided by less than a .5% margin indicated by your example, it's safe to say the country is represented equally enough by whichever candidate wins.

Nothing worse than a loser fan who complains about a bad call in the final minute when their team played like complete **** the entire match.
If you want to win, start by replacing your crappy ass geriatric candidate that nobody wants instead of blaming it on a technically.

the election this year is crypt keeper vs jabba the incontinent (who is also very, very old and says way more crazy stuff than crypt keeper).

and at least crypt keeper isnt a convicted felon who incited an insurrection against our country where he got his own supporters killed and hundreds of cops injured.

As opposed to a loser fan who storms the court and threatens the ref to try to get the score changed.

You can bet your ass if Democrats lost the popular vote but won the Presidential election multiple times, the GOP would be screaming for change.
