So trade Battier for the sake of trading him....

Come back with specific proposals and it can be discussed, if it would make the team better. These random statistics are pointless.

Personally from what i've seen so far in the pre-season(opreative word) i love the new and more assartive battier on offense. he is looking for he's shot and is scoring at a healthy rate. unless we get a great offer, i say we keep him

If he keeps shooting like he is right now, of course we should keep him. That's a no brainer. I'm far from Battier's biggest fan, but even I wouldn't trade him in the middle of this hot streak he's having.

Since this seems to be an indirect knock on Shane, I'd like to point out Battier's 3 assist postseason was in 2008-09, when Yao was out and I believe more of the offense was going through McGrady and the PGs.

In the other two seasons when Battier played over 246 playoff minutes, he had 15 assists (272 minutes in 2007-08) and 31 assists (496 minutes last season), which were right around his season averages.

taking a statistical hit for the team OR not carrying your weight on the team...

maybe in some sense Shane knew the team was better off with someone else creating. maybe it was good he stayed away from the ball and reserved his focus and energies doing other things on the court (defense, spacing the floor, etc).

or maybe he just is no rudy gay. lmoa.

Trevor isn't a creator by any means, but like Von Wafer, he can at least get to the basket off of the pump fake or the momentum of the pass (as the defense adjusts.) Shane seriously might be the only starting wing in all of basketball that can't do anything with the ball.

Arrgh. Sorry, I messed up. Battier's 3-assist postseason was 2007-2008, the one with McGrady and without Yao. He did better in 2006-2007 and last season.
