Did you see that they signed with a PR Agency today? They were listening to us and they might be getting ready for a nice push. I already have some stake in it..might pick up a little more for a long term hold of course. I have been liking ARK for a while so this is a step in the right direction. https://blog.ark.io/ark-signs-partn...-bitcoin-pr-buzz-22366e7ffb7e?gi=e63f95f4c1e3
Bitcoin just hit $13k... when it hits new milestones, good time to sell or hold due to influx of hype? Trying to get my degenerate on with some daytrading
That's why you have to record every transaction, there's little wiggle room when you've recorded every btc transaction you did (along with the price at that time) and the money adds up.
Perfect timing, just when we've talked about this. Hope this improves things for them and gives deserved attention to ARK.
Yup, we are going to see it in the news more and of course a natural pump will follow thanks to every random person reading about ARK and their tech.
Recent spike due to potential new technology making Bitcoin payments process much faster, yes? Still new to the game
Mix of everything, there's been several good news and Futures are starting to trade on Dec 10th. Trend has been upwards for weeks now, it isn't attributable to one single event. For your "good time to seel?" question? People have been talking about a correction since 7.5k and it never happened or was extremely shortlived, so might as well jump in. Daytrading btc is risky though, even pros get burned constantly as the market is pretty unpredictable.
Was referring to the very recent spike, I bought some at about 9.7k during the dip after it hit 12k. I have constantly been buying during dips, but want to sell a bit during some high-points to start realizing some profits.
UPDATE: I seem to be up $300 ish in a few days. That's more than I've made in my mutual funds in the same time frame which has 75x more money in it. I guess I should convert it all to BTC.
Normally the answer is yes, it is a good time to sell after a new ATH. Bitcoin hasn't been normal for a few months now -- I would hang on to them. $10K was new ATH, then $11K, $12K, now $13K... all within the span of a month. If you're concerned about never cashing out to get these profits, set a stop-loss and guarantee yourself x% of profit. If Bitcoin keeps going up, great, you've made more money and can raise your stop-loss. If it tanks, it should trigger your S/L and cash you out at that % gain.
What’s the best place to read up on crypto currencies? I’ve only got BTC right now but would like to spread it out.
Approach it from two different angles. There is the investing side and there is the technology/development side. There is a plethora of info on the technology/development side. You can start on youtube and start looking around for people you find interesting. With the investment side, the wind changes direction very quickly. Today people are talking about Monero, IOTA and Dash. In a month, these could stagnate and there will be new hotties on the block.
What advantages do other currencies hold to bitcoin though? Seems like they can also be profitable, but don't have the long-term value of Bitcoin.
For Binance, all you need to do is basically register to start trading? No verification of anything? Sadly, there's really no telling. There has been tons of news regarding Bitcoin lately such as : Wall Street people/"legends" starting to predict prices upwards of $40-$100k for it can't hurt even though they probably have no clue, either It's gaining more and more exposure on CNBC CBOE and CME are about to begin trading futures on BTC in a few days (really curious to see what effect this has) Tons of volume in IOTA that made money had a bit of a sell off recently which makes me think they converted some of those gains into BTC especially since the volume on Binance for the BTC<->IOTA pair alone may have brought them down. lol.
As a humorous aside, I decided to look for the thread on Anandtech that I believe was my introduction to Bitcoin. A few days after reading the original post in the thread back in 2011 a co-worker asked me if I had heard about "bitcoin", and I said "that virtual money crap?" I laughed at it and we agreed not to get involved because it sounded so stupid. I hope I never run into him in a dark alley because he'll probably kick my ass. Here's the thread. Some of the responses to the first thread are hysterical (in retrospect, because I agreed with many of the negative comments back then) : https://forums.anandtech.com/threads/cryptocoin-mining.2167303/
Do Texas Income-Tax laws apply to Bitcoin? As in, do I not need to pay taxes on profits from bitcoin? Apologies if this is a stupid question
This is not income. It's not really even defined as anything officially yet, but it sounds like the IRS is just considering it an asset not currency so it'll likely be subject to the same tax laws as stocks in the near future.
