i find it amazing that some of you think we just take your money and kick back for 6 months or a year. theres so much customer service and marketing involved that its hard to keep up with sales sometimes. the claims adjuster you have is probably your problem. agents arent supposed to get involved because details often get mixed up.
Are you an insurance agent? If so, which company do you work for? If you are one, than you must not know how we the customers feel then.
so, toyota believes it is a defective condenser (sp?) that was replaced by the body shop. they want $570 to fix it and the other body shop just told me to bring it back to them. two questions a) can i have it fixed at toyota under the claim and b) i have rent car coverage for 30 days and did not use all that originally, so what are the chances i can get a rent car while they fix it?
You can have it fixed wherever you want. But if the 1st shop was already paid for the condenser, then you'll have to ask them to pay for it (which they won't; they will tell you to bring it back and let them fix it under warranty). Since this is a correction from the 1st shop's work, they should pay for the rental. An insurance company doesn't owe to correct a shop's work (unless it is one of their DRPs) or for rental. BTW ...In 18 years of being in the collision industry, i have never heard of a defective condenser. I would be skeptical.
thanks man. skeptical of the diagnosis or the work of the body shop? i actually finally got a hold of someone at state farm and they said i still had like 225 hours left on my claim for a rent car, so if they have to keep my car, i can get a rent car on that claim.
