I don't know if the Rockets have filled the IR spots, but maybe two of these players could fill them. If not then join the minors and wait to get called up.

There are not any IR spots to fill anymore. They did away with that when they expanded the roster to 15. We have one open spot, Baxter was given a guarenteed contract so he is staying and he looked pretty dang good last night. He reminds me C-Spoon in his younger days...hes the Big Lug on the team now... :)

And Barkely was only like 6'-5" on a good day....

Langford- nice scorer, but doesnt do enough to warrant a spot...he has some length and can slash but he will have to show much more in order to get a roster spot...

Hayes- GREAT rebounder, has a nose for the ball, and shows alot of hustle and energy...unfortunately hes not quick enough to guard SFs and hes not a good enough scorer/shooter to play the 2 spot...and at 6'6", those are the only spots where he'd make sense, although his game has the look of a 4's...

Baxter- love the guy- great rebounder, can score inside despite being much undersized, and knows how to throw his bulk around...he's kind of like a more physical, poor-man's othella harrington...he'd be a magnificent screen-setter if he'd learn to quit moving when he sets screens...

Only baxter is worth keeping. we have enough scorers, but you can never have enough of good rebounders or hustle players.

I agree! He really can clear some space in the paint.

Sir Charles played PF at 6'6" ~ 6'7" to a HOF level. it's more about style of play more than size.

    Exactly.
Heart is very important in the paint.
Reggie Evans, Ben Wallace or Elton Brand are 6.8 as well.

Nice post, I agree. SPoon was all big butt and bulk veteran skill and knowlege. I liked the way the refs would allow him to bang on the large stars and push them out of there comfort zones. Liked his shot.

I like Lonnie Baxter, the strength, the hustle on team defense, the boards. He seems to get stripped of the ball more than JVG will allow. Here's hoping we get to marvel at his game when he comes in for garbage time because Swift and Howard are playing so well.

I really like Baxter and glad he's already signed.

Langford, Hayes doesn't really stand out, from the 2 pre-season games I saw, they're OK but not guaranteed to be on the roster.

Luther Head really stand out, it seems to me Luther Head improved since his college days, and he could be really valuable in our championship push.
