Here is a review of a book you guys should read: http://www.rit.org/reviews/weird.html Also: http://www.str.com.br/English/Res/poof.htm
I've been through the Denver airport a few times and never noticed those murals. Why on earth would they put something like that in an airport? Thats a terrible thing to see before getting on a plane especially after 9/11. Those pictures are demonic, people are weird
That is a terrible book and review, completely one sided. His opinion is basically anything weird should be ignored. I wonder what his views on faith based religons are? They can't be proved with science either. The opinions in this thread have been pretty objective i think.
Oh, another one: the Freemasons / Masonic manipulation of world events over the centuries. Don't buy into it myself, but it's one to speculate about. haven: KingCheetah said it.
A few months ago someone posted in another thread on the book Phillip Corso wrote on the supposed crash of a UFO in Roswell (DaDakota???). I was just interested to get a few opinions on why such a high ranking official would write a book like this shortly before his death. He was of clear mind when the book was written and granted many interviews before he died. Was he crazy, short on money, tired of keeping such a secret, what was his motivation(s)? Any other general opinions on the controversy that won't die surrounding this event would be interesting. The original forward to the book was written by Strom Thurmond, but was later pulled after the first printing. A little general info on the book its claims and author: The Day After Roswell Lt. Col. Philip J. Corso was a senior staff officer in the Pentagon for 21 years, and had previously been on General MacArthur's staff in the Korean War, an advisor to President Eisenhower, Commander of a nuclear missile retallion in Germany, and has been trusted with some of this countries most protected secrets. One of those secrets came in July of 1947, when he was a Major stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas. There was a large shipment being sent from Roswell to Washington that contained alien bodies floating in liquid, which he describes as about six feet tall and three feet wide, covered in tarps: they resembled the alien that we know as "Greys." They were referred to as Extraterrestrial Biological Entities. But this was just the beginning of Col. Corso's involvement in the US Military with UFO's. In 1961 he stationed a the Pentagon to the office of Foreign Technology, where his assignment was to share the technology with Military contractors. After checking the progress of this technology it was given to various American corporations, and is responsible for the development some of the most advanced pieces of equipment in the past couple of decades. Corso is the highest ranking official to come forward with information supporting the UFO crash scenario. He joins several high ranking military and civilian officials who have come forward including Major Jesse Marcel chief intelligence officer 509th bomb group.
This has officially become my new favorite thread. Texas Stoke, I've never seen or even heard anything about those bizzare murals at the Denver Airport. What (if any) was the explanation to their meaning by the people who decided to put them there? If I remember, there was a lot of controversy during the building of that airport having to do with being behind schedule and over buget etc. It seems weird that those murals were never mentioned in the midst of it all.
ima_drummer2k, heres some info about the Denver airport you may find interesting. http://www.anomalies-unlimited.com/Denver_Airport.html
The Denver airport is just crazy! I had no idea of any of this: My guess would be its a sort of "what-if" major emergency military base and shelter. I would bet the "buried" underground buildings aren't buried at all and the "buried" runway could be quickly cleaned if needed. Cool link Texas Stroke, the strangest thing I think are those murals -- scary
This is from that same site: Talk about crazy. That site kept me busy for well over an hour, and I was only going through the DIA pages and the page that the above is from, which talks about different underground bases across the US. Seems like we got alien communities and secret detainment camps all over the place. A lot of it's just really out there.
Bermuda Triangle/Dragon’s Triangle In recent years much has been written about the Bermuda Triangle and the mysterious phenomena associated with it. Most of us are aware that the Bermuda Triangle is a triangular shaped area of ocean stretching from the Straits of Florida, north-east to Bermuda, south to Lesser Antilles and then back to Florida. Less known, on the other side of the world, there exists a similar area of ocean known as the Dragon’s Triangle. The Dragon’s Triangle follows a line from Western Japan, north of Tokyo, to a point in the Pacific at approximate latitude of 145 degrees east. It turns west south west, past the Bonin Islands, then down to Guam and Yap, west towards Taiwan, before heading back to Japan in a north north easterly direction. Both areas share stories of missing maritime vessels and aircraft, reports of malfunctioning navigational and communication equipment and tales of drifting, crewless ghost ships. Both areas bear markedly similar geographical characteristics. Each lie at exact opposite side of the globe - longitude 35 degrees west and east respectively. Both are triangle in shape and are located in areas of high volcanic activity; situated at the eastern end of continental masses, where the ocean floor varies in depth from being relatively shallow to some of the deepest ocean trenches in the world. They are also prone to extreme weather conditions which range from sudden localised fogs, giant waves, whirlpools, sea - quakes and minicanes - intense localised hurricanes. The Dragon’s Triangle in particular, bears testament to an ever-changing seascape. Islands and lands masses have formed and disappeared literally overnight through volcanic activity and seaquakes. Records reveal islands charted by experienced navigators, and documented as having been visited; yet years later no trace of these places could be found! Another common factor is the existence of agonic lines - lines of no magnetic variation, along which the magnetic needle points directly north and south. The principle agonic line in the Western Hemisphere runs directly through the Bermuda triangle, whilst the principle agonic line in the Eastern Hemisphere runs through the Dragon’s triangle. Which in both cases often leads to extreme compass deviation in the surrounding area. For over a thousand years, possibly longer, the Japanese and their neighbours have recorded strange occurrences and disappearances. Ancient records tell of restless dragons surfacing from the depths, and taking unfortunate mariners back to their underground lairs. Legends dating back to c.1000Bc tell of underwater palaces inhabited by dragons and of a great slumbering dragon which lived in the cavern beneath the sea. However, it wasn’t until the late 1960’s that western attention was drawn to this eastern phenomenon, and connections made with the Bermuda Triangle. Despite frequent coverage in the Japanese media of disappearances, reports rarely made the international press. One of the most famous stories to ever surround the Bermuda Triangle is the mysterious disappearance of the Naval Air Flight 19. On December 5th, 1945, five Avenger torpedo bombers left the Naval Air Station at Fort Lauderdale. They never returned home. The Avenger bombers contained 14 men, 13 of those were trainees in the last stages of their training along with Lt. Charles Taylor. The five pilots had been recently transferred from the Miami Naval Air Station. Lt. Taylor knew the Florida Keys well but had no knowledge of flying over the Bahamas which was the direction Flight 19 was headed in. Their mission on that day was for practice bombing at hens and Chicken Shoals fifty-six miles away. Once that was accomplished, the Avengers were to continue on eastward for another sixty-seven miles, then head north seventy-three miles. Following that they would turn southwest and head for home. In other words they were flying a triangular flight path through what would be called the Bermuda Triangle. At 3.50pm that afternoon a pilot and his flight instructor, Lt. Robert Cox were about to land at Fort Lauderdale. They overheard a radio transmission addressed to someone named Powers. Powers replied, "I don't know where we are. We must have got lost after that last turn." A little later on Lt. Cox managed to establish radio contact with another of the Pilots on the lost Avengers out at sea. Speaking with Lt. Taylor he was informed that Taylor's compasses were not working and he was sure that they were in the "keys", meaning Florida keys, and that he didn't know how to get to Fort Lauderdale. Cox urged him to fly north toward Miami "If you are in the keys." Taylor was badly mistaken, he in fact was not in the keys as thought. He was in the Bahamas and by taking Cox's advice and flying north he would only go further out to sea. Efforts by Cox and others to establish the location of Flight 19 were hampered by poor communications. At one point Taylor was urged to turn over control of the flight to one of the students, though apparently he did not do so. As dusk slowly approached Fort Lauderdale realized with great horror that Lt. Taylor and his Avengers had no idea of where they were, they were completely lost. The atmospheric interference with the radio signals got a lot worse at sunset and communication was almost impossible with Flight 19. Lt. Taylor exclaimed that they would fly north-northeast for a short time, then head north. The continued on with their course changing to veer slightly off to the east when the contact made with Fort Lauderdale at 5.15pm by Taylor. "We are now heading west" exclaimed Taylor as he was overheard addressing his companions and telling them that they should join up; as soon as one of them ran out of fuel, they would all go down together. The sun sank down on Fort Lauderdale at 5.29pm. Bad weather was moving in from the north and the situation was escalating into a full blown emergency. No one knew where Flight 19's location was and there was much speculation as to where they could be. At 6.00pm reception improved for a short time. Taylor was urged to switch to 3,000 kilocycles, the emergency frequency. Taylor refused to do so for fear he and the other planes would fall our of communication; unfortunately, interference from Cuban commercial stations and the inability of other coastal stations to translate the Fort Lauderdale training signal easily would effectively shut off Flight 19 from the rest of the world. At one point the ComGulf Sea Frontier Evaluation Center thought it had pinpointed the flight's approximate position; east of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, and far to the north of the Bahamas. The first rescue craft was sent out at 6.20pm. It was a Dumbo flying boat and it soon lost contact with the shore, leading all to believe that they had also lost the Dumbo. The problem turned out to be and iced over antenna. Within the hour more aircraft joined in the search. The weather was overcast and the seas were reported as rough and turbulent. One flight a Martin Mariner (Training 49) failed to make its scheduled rendezvous and did not answer radio calls. At 7.50pm the crew of a nearby ship reported of seeing an enormous sheet of fire caused by the explosion of an aeroplane. The ship reported of passing through a large pool of oil soon after and not finding any survivors or bodies of the crashed aircraft. They did not try to retrieve any debris from the ocean as weather conditions were at this point deteriorating rapidly making it impossible for any kind of retrieval. Flight 19 by this time had exhausted their fuel and were assumed to be down. Taylor's last transmission was heard at 7.04pm. The search for the lost Avengers continued on through the rough night and hundreds of planes and ships joined the search the next day. No trace of the Mariner or Avengers have ever been found. On November 19 the Board for Correction of Naval Records retracted the original verdict and officially laid the disaster to "causes or reasons unknown".
devil horns? NWO sign? hmmmm.... http://frisbie.home.attbi.com/bushsig1.jpg/IMG] [IMG]http://educate-yourself.org/mc/prince-william.jpeg
hmmmm.. seems like someone doesn't want me posting those images. conspiracy? heres the link: http://www20.brinkster.com/eyeamyou/horns/evileye.htm
stop the press! i think this is actually my favorite of these type "experiences." really interesting.
Can you post a summary of all this, i'm just not following what they are talking about. I have heard about the Russians mission to Mars and the Phobos picture, which is strange if only because the Russians are more open in talking about paranormal events. It may just be they wanted to have an excuse for the failure of their probe, but the last image it sent back is pretty strange. Also the failure rate of probes sent to Mars is extremely high, too high...kinda like the Boston Redsox.
Whew, some of these sights are tough, they're just silly. Loch Ness is an interesting lake its very old and very deep 600-700 feet, created by glaciers, a fjord I believe. I have a "i'll believe it when I see it attitude" towards these mystery creatures. Bigfoot in North America I just don't believe it maybe the Yetti because the Himalayan mountains are so remote, but show me a body or a picture, footprints seem to be an easy hoax. This seems like a pretty intelligent site on Loch Ness. http://www.nessie.co.uk/
The Ark of the Covenant It is perhaps the most sacred object mentioned in the Bible said to contain the stone tablets upon which the Ten Commandments were inscribed by the finger of God. It was believed to be the literal manifestation of God on Earth. But the Ark of the Covenant is also one of the most frightening artifacts described in all of biblical history. A golden box with the power to strike men dead, to the ancient Hebrews, the Ark was both a divine manifestation and a talisman so powerful that they carried it with them into battle a weapon of God. To their enemies, it was a treasure to be coveted but once captured, a terrible punishment. It came to occupy the most revered spot in Jerusalem, the Holy of Holies at the Temple of Solomon, and then six centuries before the birth of Christ it mysteriously disappeared. Unearthly Powers To the Israelites, the Ark also was a symbol and a vehicle for God's almighty power. Many biblical accounts of the Ark seem almost to be describing a weapon of war. The Ark of the Covenant did not always bring victory to its bearers. In about 1050 B.C., the rival Philistines defeated the Hebrews in battle and captured the Ark, which they took back to their home city of Ekron. But for them, the treasure turned into a torment. When they placed it in their temple, the idol of their god Dagon was found the next morning with its head and hands mysteriously gone. The Philistines themselves were afflicted with painful leprosy-like sores until the Ark was returned to the Hebrews. A Technological Mystery The object's design, they note, essentially made it a giant capacitor, capable of storing electrical energy. "Gold is one of the best conductors of electricity there is, while wood is one of the best insulators," "If the Israelites had set out to construct a primitive accumulator, they could hardly have picked a better design than the Ark." Subsequent tests of Andrews' model at a college laboratory confirmed that his Ark could accumulate and release an electrical charge. Andrews theorizes that the friction of the heated air against the Ark allowed it to accumulate static electricity, much in the same way that a car can do so on a hot day. "The strength of the charge would depend on variables such as humidity and temperature, but also length, speed and bumpiness of journey," he wrote. "There is no reason why the charge could not be lethal." Other theories hold that several batteries could have been linked together to generate a higher voltage. More experiments with several Baghdad-type batteries have shown this to be possible. The Design of the Ark And they shall make an ark of acacia wood; two and a half cubits shall be its length, a cubit and a half its width, and a cubit and a half its height. And you shall overlay it with pure gold, inside and out you shall overlay it. And you shall make two cherubim of gold. And the cherubim shall stretch out their wings above, covering the mercy seat with their wings. You shall put the mercy seat on top of the ark, and in the ark you shall put the Testimony that I will give you. And there I will meet with you, and I will speak with you from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim which are on the ark of the Testimony, about everything which I will give you in commandment to the children of Israel. - Exodus 25:10-22 What would it mean to the world if the Ark of the Covenant were actually found and revealed? Would it be paraded around the globe like the treasures of King Tutankhamun? Or, as many fundamentalist Christians believe, will it be revealed soon as advent of the Second Coming and, with its supernatural powers, be used in the apocalyptic Battle of Armageddon to help usher in a new age? Or are the Ark and its legendary paranormal powers merely the stuff of religious myth?
