The Rockets really don't need to add a combo guard at this time. Just focus on getting our next superstar, adding to our collection of young assets, and remaining flexible in regards to the salary cap.

I actually think we could use a combo guard ...that can actually shoot. I don't like playing Delfino at the 2 because he gets burned on defense. Lin can't shoot very well so when he slides over we really lose a lot there. When Harden rests we need a guy who can knock down shots, and when Lin rests we need a guy that can handle the ball. Ironically, Dragic would be perfect.

Not gonna happen, but a Lin-Dragic-Harden backcourt would be dope.

this, improving our performance at a position of need is pointless if it hurts our ability to develop/acquire another superstar to pair with Harden

He's an unrestricted free agent this summer, and Houston has cap space. I guess it would depend on what his market price is, and whether Houston wants to spend their cap space on him or on a PF free agent or another piece instead. He will have 7yrs in the NBA, so a max for him this summer starts at about $16.5M for the first year of his next contract with annual raises. Not that he will be certain or even likely to get maxed, of course. We'll just have to see what he fetches on the free market this summer, along with the caveat that he might be turning it up this season only because it's a contract year. And then decide if he's worth his market price, compared to other options or positions for Morey to spend his cap space on.

I've been watching a number of Spurs games these last few days and I've been really impressed with DeColo.
I was already familiar with his game due to his time with Valenica and the French NT and I expected him to be a decent NBA player, but he's been even a bit better than I thought he would be.

Really runs the Spurs offense well. Rarely out of control. High basketball IQ. Good feel for the game. Can make plays for himself and others. Solid shooter. Good cutter. Can play both PG & SG.

Now, he does have some athletic limitations and thus probably will always be a bench player, but he sure can be a good one at that. Reminds me a bit of Bobby Sura.

Can't see the Spurs trading DeColo, but he's someone I'd keep an eye on moving forward. He'll be a free agent in 2014.

By the way, the Spurs got the draft pick they used on DeColo from the Rockets in the Scola trade. These darn Spurs!
