Prior to this season, most in the NBA community would have probably agreed EG was the superior player. It’s not like he’s chopped liver. Adding a first, especially with the up/down season we’re having, makes it a respectable offer if/when Sacramento plummets in the standings.

You’re right that Sacramento will probably keep him, though. Just trying to think outside the box,

 

Olynk's contract can be moved when needed if you have two first round picks to send with him or you're taking back even a worse contract. That's foolish. Olynk has NEGATIVE trade value. At least Melo is an expiring minimum salary contract.
