Why do you think they have to give you a 100k warranty?

I'd rather buy a car with a 50k mile warranty that I don't have to drag to the dealership every other month. I've only had to do one repair (engine light came on) on my Altima since I bought it, and it's got nearly 35K miles already. It's like the new Beemers - free maintenance, but that doesn't count the hassle of dragging it down to the dealership every other week because something's not working right.

That's not counting the fact that the Hyundais, despite their improvements, are still not up to par with other cars in their class. Looks good on paper, but after you buy it you'll wish you'd gone with an Accord or something.

The only times I'm glad that I got my 2003 Accord V6 over something like my wife's Mercedes C230 sedan are:

    1. When I drag race her.
    2. When I have to drag race somebody else in her car.
    3. When I have to sit in her front passenger seat.
    4. At the pump ($30 to fill up on regular for mine, $45 for her on premium).

For context, we live in SF area and are in our late 20's-early 30's.

For about 38-45k, you could get an AUDI A4, it has it all, it has more than you want, and more than you need.

    AUDI A4, QUARTTRO, 3.2, V6:

    Luxury inside and out
    Great and fun car
    Bose sound
    Cruise control
    Xenon light
    6 CD changer
    heated seat
    power seat
    premium leather seat
    sunroof
    all wheel drive
    6 speed transmition
    NAV
    sporty look and feel

What else, has it all in every car named above.

I don't know how could someone claim this to be true. Jetta is well known to be a girl car, and even if it has similar char...with Audi, but it's definitly not on the same class as Audi, Audi is more luxury, has more feature, looks better, feels better, works better, more reliable, and so on.....

Audi is the premium version of Jetta. Just like Honda and Acura, or Toyota and Lexus.................If you claim Toyota is same, the you're "right".

I'm talking about the 3.2L version here, or the 3.0, not the 1.8T version.

Check out the '07 Camry...they've completely changed that car and it looks almost Avalon-like now...heck of a nice vehicle.

    Here are my suggestions:

    Luxury Sports Sedan:

*My number one suggestion - Infiniti G35 - Around 31K, Great 3.5L V6 producing around 280-290 hp, very quick acceleration with great handling. It's quicker than the BMW - and cheaper overall. *19 MPG City - 26 MPG Highway
BMW 325i - Also around 31K for base, A good 3.0L Inline 6 producing 215 hp, and it has the BMW logo. I'd rather go for the G35 though. *20 MPG City - 30 MPG Highway
Lexus IS350 - Around 37K, 307 hp from a V6, Quicker than both the G35 and 325i (based on magazines reports and manufacter claims),- and it looks hella good. *19 MPG City - 26 MPG Highway

    Fast Sports Sedans:

Subaru Impreza WRX STi - Around 30K, a 300hp/300 ft lb of torque from a turbocharged 4-cylinder, 4 doors 4 seats, Rally Inspired, AWD, a street monster.
Mitsubishi Evolution - ^ Almost the exact same. Was created to rival the Impreza. 271 hp turbocharged 4 cylinders with AWD. It's as quick as the STi.

Some other cars that I suggest you look at...

Acura RSX Type S - Sporty compact car
Nissan Altima SE-R - Sporty Sedan
    Mazda RX-8 - Sport Car
Honda Accord V6 - Family Sedan

I can't believe there's no love for the Subarus.

I've driven a Subaru Impreza Outback Sport for a few years now and I love it.

All Wheel Drive. Fast. Decent Gas Mileage. Great Handling. Reasonable Price. Surprisingly Roomy For Hauling Stuff. Hell, I even tow my camper with it.

The Sport starts at about 19,000 right now.

My bro had a WRX and that thing hauled ass.

I'll definitely get another Subaru for my next car. Probably this one-

Don't be one of those people that buy the cheapest/lowest model 3 series BMW just so you can say you own a Beamer. I laugh at those people.

Man you nailed it - Subarus are freaking bad ass vehicles. I've never heard anything bad about a Subaru - the Legacy 2.5 GT has 250 hp and costs 28k.

    LOL! I concur.

Well, Ford trucks are an exception...I believe ZBoy is referring to their cars.

Get the Accord or Camry for reliability... they're both good cars.

Consider an Acura TSX, but also consider repair costs may be a bit higher. That being said, you'll get treated better at the service department than you would with many other nameplates.

Don't get a hybrid if you're trying to save money. You'd have to drive the thing over 100,000 miles or so to break even on the extra cost(s) of the hybrid. On top of that, you get less performance for the most part than their gas counterparts.

Don't get a BMW. You can't get a good BMW in that price range and the repair costs are silly. A used BMW? Bwahaha... move on.

    A used Lexus may qualify.

    Volkswagens are junk.

Nissan quality has been lame lately. They've pushed out so many new models and re-designs, it's starting to show in poorer build quality.

Please don't buy a Ford car. Stop supporting garbage vehicles. That includes its pimped up cousins, Lincolns and Merurys.

That is correct. I was referring to their cars. Ford makes good trucks. Tiger has me figured out.

I'm into the whole sports car scene.

    I would look at the:

    -Acura RSX Type S
    -Mitsubishi Lancer Evo
-Subaru WRX STI <---- most underrated car.

The Honda's and new Toyota's are pretty nice.

But if you want to know where it's at:

    JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE SRT 8

Bad ass SUV goes from 0-60 in under 5 seconds.

    It's like $40K I think...

check it out for fun, though.

They might have the same electrical, but they're definitely not the same class. The look outside and inside, the feeling inside when you sit on a Audi is way way better than a Jetta, and everything is pretty much premium version of Jetta, from bumper bumper............

Have you ever drive or sit in a 02 after Audi A4, if so, you will know what I'm talking about, if not, you don't know what you talking about.

I would suggest you to go to one of the nearest dealer around you, and test drive a Audi A4, 3.0, or 3.2L, I gurrantee you will be very impressive with it, the moment you sit on it, you can feel the world of difference between Audi and Toyota or Honda or Jetta...............................and like I said before, I promise you will be impressed with it.......if not, then I guess you got a Benz for your first car.......
