Maybe a rehash but... 1. They didn't have a vote. 2. It's not up to them. The Hornets have an independent management team that was promised autonomy to ensure there was no conflict of interest. Stern and the owners have no more right to butt in for 'basketball reasons' for the Hornets than they do for the Magic.
