Yao is never getting trades unless for Lebron / Kobe

Yao is the most famous and popular sportsperson in the worlds 3 rd biggest econommy..

The marketing and business connections for the team owner who can leverage this with business in China is immense.

How about we use Yao as a Trade bait for Bosh and sign Shaq to replace Yao? With Brad Miller as a Back Up?

People play the racism card too much nowadays. If saying "black players" offends someone then lol.

I'm not so much offended by the racist tones in this thread as I am by the topic itself.

CH, dude, I normally find you to be one of the more astute posters on this BBS (your gratuitous attempt-at-humor threads aside). But a thread RIGHT NOW about Yao's trade value??? Come on!

Trading Yao is a moot point. Les isn't going to trade him away unless Yao definitely proves to be done as a player. And, as Morey has pointed out numerous times, no one will know this for sure until March or April of next season, which is AFTER the February trade deadline. After that, Yao will become an unrestricted free agent. And if you're talking sign-and-trade, that would totally change his trade value, as we've seen with the (far too many) threads about Chris Bosh sign-and-trade deals.

Dude, save your insight for topics that are actually worth discussing.

What is your point about always bringing it up?

You call Chase the Black Joe Johnson, where is the humor, what is the point exactly?

If you are at all aware of Carl Herrera's postings, 99% of it is sarcastic.

I assumed he was making fun of people that are too willing to trade Yao because they think he is soft and, you know, not "black" enough.

I agree... kinda annoying. Would any African American be somewhat offended if i called someone "colored"? Hey.. there goes the "Colored" Joe Johnson... Grow up Carl Herrera. You come off to me that your promoting a certain race over the other in the sport. As if it's not clear as day that alot of "colored" players are supieror in the sport. HMM.. is that ok that i said colored?

Find some onions and act like a man.

You think he's simultaneously being derogatory towards black players (because he called them "black" ... huh?) and also promoting black players over other players? I don't see how those even go together.

Why exactly couldn't the poll option be "some other player" instead of "some other black player?"

Was the OP trying to be funny? Because it wasn't.

Was the OP trying to stir debate? Because he succeeded.

LOL. Sounds like you need to stop munching onions and lighten up. I for one find Chase's nickname "the black Joe Johnson" quite funny.

Because then he'd have to put "some other chinese player", "some other hispanic player", and "some other (insert ethnicity of your choosing) player" for you to be happy. Then you wouldn't be.

He was trying to be finny, and it was mildly amusing and, mostly, not worth debating.

    Sarcastic humor.

I know it's the popular thing to do, but I honestly don't get the point of complaining about mention of race when it isn't even openly derogatory.

And I'm pretty sure it's just because he said 'black' that this is even a discussion.

c'mon guys... Yao has great value!

as a player: Best center IF come back healthy and a great teamate and makes any team much better. even at 20~30min. a night will be very productive.

biz value: (1.) $17 mil. expiring contract (2.) potential Chinese deal for teamates (3.) International fans

his trade value right now should be top 15 in the league. you'd surprise how many teams would covet Yao or his contract anytime Yao's available.

Agree. Except watch out for mentions of "high IQ". Thats to usually favor the less than pigmented player.
