To me the most obvious trade for Rockets is going back after Gasol. It would involve a 3-Team Trade that would look something like the below. It could/will involve more pieces/picks to get deal going but I think this would the meat of it. http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=7rec4az Rockets Get: Pau Gasol, D. Milic Lakers Get: L. Ridnour, W. Ellington Wolves Get: K. Martin Or something crazy like this: http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=7688ac9
A cross between predictions and random trade ideas -- I think Morey will go after Pau again though. Trade One: Houston receives: Andres Nocioni, 2012 first rd pick (or 2013 lottery protected pick) Philadelphia receives: Luis Scola -- Expiring contract and a pick to gear up to try to make some noise next summer. Nobody is going to give up much for Scola at his age and contract, but Philly is hot and they could use a post scorer. Scola would provide better punch offensively than Thaddeus Young. Trade two: Houston receives: Pau Gasol Lakers receive: Mo Williams, Jordan Hill, Thabeet, Dragic, NYK 1st round pick (or Philly 1st round pick from previous trade) Clippers receive: Kevin Martin Morey gets his man in Gasol, Lakers get more PGs than they know what to do with including Mike Brown's old guy from Cleveland, Clippers get a real SG.
I think the Scola to 76ers trade is a good one if we get back an un-protected 1st rounder. For the 2nd trade, I don't think the Lakers would bite without getting back more depth/potential young players.
Sixers already have Brand and Young at PF. Their weakest positions are SG and C. I can't see them over-committing salary at PF when they have had much greater need in other areas for a few seasons now.
***Good trade for us. Don't care about 76ers. As long as we can dump salary and pick up 2012 picks = good trade for Rockets with the exception of trading Lowry or Patterson.
They're 20-10 right now and made the playoffs last season, so there isn't much to protect. It's probably not going to be a lottery pick anyway whether it's this year or next. I'm not too familiar with how Collins rotates them, but Hawes and Brand is pretty decent at Center in today's NBA, IMO. And is Turner not still viewed as the future at SG? Also, Brand expires after next year anyway. They're lacking a go-to post player so I thought it made some sense. Young is still on a cheap contract, so looking past Brand's salary next year it wouldn't be a huge commitment.
This is a little ridiculous, but oh well Rumors are.....Miami wants Kaman HOU receives - Bosh MIA receives - Kaman and Scola NO receives - Thabeet, Hill, Flynn, and possibly a pick via MIA

Sixers weakest position is not SG. SG is probably their strongest position. They have four very good guards on their roster and three of them probably play best at SG (Iggy, Meeks, Turner, with Williams also as a score-first PG who can play SG in a pinch). Young is more of a swing forward, and Brand frankly isn't very good anymore. Sixers need bench SF, PF, C. They are set for starters and more than set for guard play.
That only a small trade will happen that will have us all confused and stunned and maybe that horrendous trade for Pau Gasol. Can any1 give me the reasoning for us wanting him, he's not exactly the type of player McHale would like to have since he's a pushover. I hope we go after Kaman or at least try to pry lose a big from Utah since they are stacked with Millsap, Jefferson, Kanter & Favors! We need a big who can rebound, play defense and is a post threat. We have nobody for us to work the inside-out game so we end up shooting way too much from the outside. I see us trading: Scola, Dragic & Martin for Pau or a small one.
We can probably pick up both Gasol and Kaman and strengthen our frontcourt quite a bit. If I had to predict, that's what I would think Morey would do. I'm not a huge fan of weakening our back court by sending out Martin unless we can make another trade to upgrade at SG, but I guess it's a marginal improvement to the team to go from Lowry/Dragic Martin/Lee Parsons/Budinger Scola/Patterson Dalembert/Hill to Lowry/Dragic Lee/Dragic Parsons/Morris Gasol/Patterson Kaman/Dalembert Both of those seem doable so I guess it could happen. I think LAL could, and should, be pursuing Nash, and we could wind up in a three-way deal there. So guess I would say, Houston expirings for Kaman, Nash and Scola to LA, Martin and a young to Phoenix, and Gasol to Houston is my prediction. Now that I've predicted that: Morey will do something completely different because he always does the unexpected.
jaVale would be a great piece to have on the Rockets. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/VOB04HvFewA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/GkKJvqMTbrA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/27-jM2NvBIc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Spoiler adding him will start our transition into the r****ded globetrotters.
