I LOVED this game! My brothers and I used to play it all the time when we were little. I had completely forgotten it existed until I read your post.

As for the other old school board games, Operations was some truly sweet cob. Was there ever a board game that taught real life skills relevant to the game? Meaning, it was a board game simulating a doctor performing surgery. The main skill you needed was steady hands. It taught that (or tried).

Chutes and Ladders sure as hell wasn't teaching me any life skills.

I know an overreted game. Any Knick - Heat game from the the 90's. But the only good thing that came out of it was JVG humping Zo's leg.

Uno sucks...way too much luck involved with Uno. Yahtzee sucks, too...far too repetitive...Monopoly also sucks, even more so when you have too many people playing and nobody can get a monopoly, so the game goes on for eternity.

I always thought checkers was underrated. People think of it as a dumbed down version of chess, but there is actually quite a bit of strategy involved...

Just went to ToysRus last weekand took them up on the buy one get one free game offer. I ended up buying my 3 year old CandyLand, Chutes N Ladders, memory and a couple of other newer games. i also bought my nephew Mr. Munch. all of those are classic good games.

My personal favorites were Monopoly, Clue, Hungry-Hungry Hippos, and Trivial Pursuit (although no one would play with me because I memorized a ton of the cards).

I also played Crossbows and Catapaults. We didn't really play by the rules we just built stuff and shot it down. I was pretty damned good with the crossbow.

I liked Don't break the ice, and Ants in my pants. There was this other game with a winter related thing.

Ants in my pants was this game where you flicked ants into a pair of pants shaped like a bucket. I loved flicking the ants all over the place.

I don't know what game this is called. It might be don't break the ice, or the other game I am going to describe might be it.

In this game, you wet a paper towel, and then you would proceed to drop marbles on the paper towel. When the paper towel broke, you lose.

This other game was you would fit some "ice cubes" on this table, and the center of it was this bigger square with this penguin, or a snowman on it. You would take turns taking a hammer and knocking out one square at a time. If the center piece fell out, you lost. I thought that game was fun.

I remember it. One of my favorites. That is until I learned of the existence of Strat-O-Matic (Football, Baseball, Basketball and Hockey)

What about Old Maid, Trouble, Go Fish, Operation, and Hot Shot Basketball? Just trying to think of some that haven't been mentioned.

Don't Break The Ice was awesome. You'd just hit these little plastic ice cubes and hope that you didn't break it enough to where the little purple guy sitting in the chair didn't fall through.

And no love for Mouse Trap? Well, it certainly seemed great in theory. It was kind of like a very unsatisfiying sexual experience. There's this huge buildup, playing through the whole game, just waiting to set off that series of traps that ultimately ended with the cage falling down....and when it finally did...

It was kind of a letdown.
