Where do you get that? That album is raw as hell - that's why it's so good. There's actually a big difference b/t that one and Alive 2.

    From the VH1 web site:
    http://www.vh1.com/shows/dyn/ultimate_albums/66329/episode_about.jhtml

To this day, rampant controversy surrounds the Kiss Alive! recording with reports that a large portion of the record was recreated in the studio. The band finally comes clean in this episode of Ultimate Albums, admitting that portions of it were re-dubbed and re-mixed, to perfect its over the top live sound.

I haven't seen that episode of Ultimate Albums, but on that show they get different "stars" reactions to the album being faked.

"Portions"...I see. Seems like that happens all the time...

Thanks for the info - had not heard that. I'll hopefully get to check that show out.

Not sure about most live albums, but I'm pretty sure DMB does this as well for their live albums.

Led Zeppelin's recent live release, "How The West Was Won" is God-like.
The Elvis Costello/Steve Nieve live box-set is incredible, too.

I really, really hope the White Stripes put out a live album soon. They are awesome in concert.
