If Morey pulled this off, one, I wouldn't mind the amount of bad contracts we took back, and two, he just may be worth all the early praise from CFs.
martin, one of the three 2012 draft picks, morris or patterson, toronto pick, dallas pick, 2nd round pick for dwight, richardson, and duhon
Eric Gordon: Jeremy Lamb (young scoring guard) Aminu: Marcus Morris (young disappointing tweener) Minnesota pick: TOR pick (lotto pick) Kaman: Donatas (big guy with upside, a LOT more for Donatas) One thing different from Dwight trade is that Paul had 2 years left on contract, has another complimentary player in Blake Griffin, and IS NOT A CRYBABY. Take out Donatas and that's a deal.
Aminu sucks, Kaman had arguably as little, if not less value then Martin does now and most people thought the T-Wolves were a fringe play-off team last season (and they were until Love got injured). The pick ending up 10th was arguably the best case scenario. I think the Toronto pick has to be in it. The pick is arguably as valuable as the T-Wolves pick was. Then consider we would probably take back a bad contract or two, so I don't think Lamb has to be in the deal. Some combination of the Mavs pick, White, Jones, Patterson & Morris might do. We could also throw in our 2015 lottery protected 1st. Basically: Gordon = combination of young guys & future picks T-Wolves 1st = Raptors 1st Aminu = Morris Martin = Kaman
I think some of us are forgetting that Paul wanted to go to the Clippers.. Howard doesn't wan to come here and would possibly be playing for half a season and leave Its sad how no one has concern's on Howards injury.. we don't kno what kind of player we would be getting back
I agree with you but I would switch Jones for the Bobcats 2nd rounder, both have potential and the Summer League made me fall in love with Jones and his game. I prefer it be DAL, CHA, and TOR picks, Morris, Martin, White, Patterson, Greg Smith.
The matrix of interdependent variables is too complex to predict. The uncertainty of Dwight resigning though makes the threshold a lot lower than people think. Moray will sweat them
Martin, Patterson, Morris, T. Jones, White, 2 first round picks, 2 second round picks and take back all allowable salary up to the luxury tax line. Almost all in.
Martin, Morris, Patterson, Toronto Pick, All second round picks, Fillers etc kepp Lamb, Donuts. White and Jones.
Heck even though Hornets got that trade for their superstar remember they accepted a deal that would''ve sent Odom, Martin, Scola, Dragic, Kncks Pick (Albeit this was to keep in playoff contention to keep them in New Orleans) They are definitely not in a position to make demands. Morey is playing hardball and only reason they haven't accepted that offer is probably because it includes Motie (Doubt it) or they are trying to get Houston nervous by trying to create a bunch of false rumors to get Morey scared and to make him push up the offer. It might not make too many friends but a smart GM will still trade with you if they can improve their team.
I don't think Orlando realizes how good Morris and Patterson are. Maybe we could create a PowerPoint presentation of all their highlights.
