As of yesterday, I started reading "Proficient Motorcycling" by David L. Hough. I'm currently taking the Rider's Edge 4 day beginner's class and need all the help I can get. This was highly recommended.
Great book! When the binding fails (the quality sucks), punch holes in it put it in a binder. You'll want to re-read parts of it occasionally.
Great book.....Fun read on the Duke-Carolina rivalry from an extremely biased source! But, as a sports addict, it's easy to get into. Let me know what you think....
Just about finished with BloodChild - Octavia Butler Read a anthology of Spawn Comics Rocket River I want to read as much as possible. . . i have not done it as much as I would like to have
Kublai Khan- by John Man. I liked his book about Ghengis Khan. I have always been fascinated by the Mongol empire.
I wonder what wpuld have happened to a young Stephen King when he tried to publish "Rage" during his HS years in this age of Columbine and Vatech...
Gravity's Rainbow by Thomas Pynchon. After that (it'll be a while) I'll probably re-read some of my favorite Kurt Vonnegut books.
just finished: Too Small to Ignore by Wes Stafford (president of Compassion International). - what he saw as a son of a missionary in a poor village in Africa and then what he suffered at the hands of abusive adults in a boarding school for children of missionaries is wrenching. Next on my list is Operation Yao Ming : The Chinese Sports Empire
World War Z - Max Brooks Brad Pitt's production company has already bought the rights and the screenplay is in progress.
It was a good book, but it seems like it would not make for a good movie. The story is all over the place, no characters are followed for more than a few pages. Could work as an episodic TV show (and they wouldn't even need series regulars, could have a whole new cast every week), but just doesn't work as a movie without major changes. Another zombie book, Day by Day Armageddon, would also be difficult to adapt to a movie, but for different reasons.
Digging for the Truth on History Channel did a show about Gengis Khan (actually Chinngis Khan). It was one of the more interesting shows. Maybe available on the torrents.
