Do you like Placebo. I'm half and half on their stuff...hemoglobin is haunting, Every you Every Me rocks...Pure Morning.. Special K... Enough for me to like them but then they have some stupid wierd agenda stuff I don't like...
Dude, you are like the only person who keeps calling me "Comic Book Guy". I didn't think you were on the board when that happened. Any reason why you are doing it now? And to answer your question - I have only listened to that album like 3 times and found it to be somewhat punky. It is the only Placebo album that I have by them and unless this next time I listen to it, that I just find all kinds of stuff that I like, I don't think I am getting any more Placebo.
I've been lurking a long time on this board, back when you could look at forums without being a member, then one day I had to be a member so I became one... But, the Comic book guy stuff is from when you were the only one helping me with the fight threads, plus I knew you wanted your own special moniker...so if you don't like it I'll stop.. Whats on PLacebo? All my stuff is downloaded so I don't know what songs go with what albums... I guesss I'm just a sucker for soft punkk....
I don't mind; it's just that NO ONE else was doing it! Track listing for "Placebo": 1. Come Home 2. Teenage Angst 3. Bionic 4. 36 Degrees 5. Hang on to Your IQ 6. Nancy Boy 7. I Know 8. Bruise Pristine 9. Lady of the Flowers 10. Swallow
I like 36 Degrees....all the others are mediocre though....they keep the same sound throughout their other stuff though...
Me too, but they don't have "Living Colour" in the lyrics Nothingness is pretty cool too, and Cult of Personality...
Solace of You was cool, Open Letter to a Landlord, Which Way To America, Elvis Is Dead, Love Rears It's Ugly Head, Auslander... I might get it myself now!
The Strokes - Room on Fire Muse - Absolution Kings of Leon - Youth and Young Manhood Radiohead - Kid A Grandaddy - Sumday
I'm almost done downloading it. 5 songs left. I have dial up at home, so it takes a long time. So far, it's pretty good but very different. It sounds like it was recorded on a home 4-track. Vernon's guitar doesn't sound nearly as big as we're used to hearing it. The whole recording sounds muffled or something. But the songs are pretty good. BTW, Funny Vibe would be my all time favorite Living Colour song. Yo Chuck, we got some non-believers out there. I hope they tour and come to H-town. I'm so there.

No, it's spelled "Jimmie"... as in Jimmie Vaughn, Stevie's older brother. (an outstanding guitarist himself) He founded the original "Fabulous Thunderbirds" or the T-Birds, as folks called them around Austin, with Kim Wilson. They were a terrific band. You're thinking of the Jimi I saw live 4 times in Houston. (yes!! I'm so lucky I was rockin' back then... I'm sure most of you are sick of hearing about all the groups I got to see, sorry about that. )
