People, a tax return is what you send in to the IRS that shows how much money you made for the year and what you should owe. A tax refund is money that you get back. Carry on.
You're pretty stupid if you consistently receive a tax refund. You are giving the government your money each paycheck in exchange for zero interest. That is a bad deal. Damn, I'm on a roll tonight.
I always receive a tax refund. This is intentional. I trust George W. Bush and the Republican majority in Congress to spend my money more wisely than I could ever hope to do.
Pay off my Home Depot account (new front screen door, and landscape lighting): $600 Pay off my Room Store account (new living room and bedroom): $4500 Go on vacation: $3000 Yes, having kids and owning a home is: Priceless.
Why do you guys purchase furniture from RoomStore? I've been there once and found their products to be average and highly overpriced.
Because we just moved into a larger home with a third living area, and needed some groovery matching, large, leather stuff for the main area, aka the "great room"... Because we found a 5 piece living room set including 2 leather sofas (not 1 and a "love seat" 2 sofas), a coffee table, 2 end tables and 2 lamps for under 2 grand... and comparable leather at several places here in Dallas area had sofas for that alone... Because my wife fell in love with the four post, elevated king size bed and we had to get the matching dresser with huge three piece mirror, and the matching armoire (that serves as our bedroom entertainment center, well... outside of the bed itself )... again for less than the competition when we shopped around.... also under 2 g's... And because we could delay paying it off until 2007 with no interest, and it will be paid off as soon as our tax refund gets here... 18 months same as cash and at around $1500 cheaper than the local comp... hard to beat... And you care because??? And where would you propose we shop/buy furniture at? btw- My wife worked in the finance offices of Haverty's Fine Furniture here in the Dallas Galleria market when I met her, and we have bought furniture there, for a considerable amount more - only to have it crap out... We've also bought from "Really will... SAVE YOU MONEY... TODAY" and it broke down... furniture today is furniture, outside of some Thomas Kinkade, Ethan Allen, and Robb & Stucky... pretty much though if you know what you're looking for, you can still find quality at a lower price. Always get the five year warranty, wherever you buy... We've had to use it every time. It makes for 10 years of newer furniture. Again... you care because???
I dont really care, but im a furniture noob and I've only been there once to look at beds and left disgusted. If their furniture prices really are comparable or a better deal than other major furniture competitors, I guess I'll have to give them another shot when I go furniture shopping when I have a home to furnish. I love to do my research before I purchase anything and furniture is something I have little to no experience in. When I do own my own home, Im going to be spending ALOT of time comparing prices, quality, blah blah blah just to get a good deal.
Cool. But I am certain on the mattresses you can do better than Room Store. We went with a place called Sleep Experts for those. Seriously, all the research in the world cannot hurt. Just know this, the less you waste at a place like IKEA, the more your furniture will last.. it may take you longer to fill out a house, but it won't break down as quick. Another thing is this... although it may be gross to some... try estate sales or garage sales. Sometimes there are killer deals to be had. Also, if you overhear of someone moving, especially a move of a great distance, there can be literal give-aways or cheap deals there too... but usually they want help loading the truck in exchange (which is no biggie if you can do that sorta thing). We got a sweet china cabinet/hutch and matching formal dining table w/6 chairs for free, all for helping a family move (a girl that worked with my wife). It is true somewhat though, you get what you pay for. Just be careful at new furniture places... there are loopholes to every deal. You're wise to research it.
Well "brah", the rest of us peons shouldn't even be posting here since we can't match up to your worldly intelligence. On the other hand, considering how brilliant you are, why are you wasting your time and ours by conversing with such "low-level" forms of life? Is the MENSA BBS down again, texxx?
I wouldn't start calling people stupid, thats a little bit on the rude side....but BigTexx's advice is dead-on. Don't lend the govt money at 0% interest, ever. My wife works for an oilfield service company and instead of exceptions on her paycheck she doubled up on the employee stock purchase plan. Granted, this exact plan blew up in my face when I worked at Reliant and we went from $22 to $2 thanks to some shady power traders. There is always risk involved. But in most cases the market is gonna pay better return than letting the inept govt hold your money. Hell, you gotta be maxing out that 401K, putting as much in a Roth IRA (if you qualify there is no excuse for you not doing this....this is a freaking gift from the govt that not enough people take advantage of)....anything is better then letting those morons hold your cash.
Mostly into the stang. 3 inch cowl fiberglass hood Cobra rear bumper cover Optima battery MSD 6AL ignition Nitto 555 Drag radials/450 extremes And a Glock...trying to decide between a .40 cal and a .45.
I can't remember the last time I got a tax refund (if ever). I'm of the "don't lend the gov't money at 0%" mindset.
Get the outside of my house painted and get some landscaping done, pay med bills from my stint in the hospital a couple of weeks ago, and hopefully have some left over so I can get me a big old chunk of gubment cheese.
speaking of which...anybody else had that damn song from the H&R Block commercial stuck in their heads? if you have, it's "Special" by The Brakes. downloadable free here: http://www.myspace.com/thebrakes
