I'm expecting a decent season with some minor injuries.... 60-65 games... 12-14 ppg... 3-4 assists... no defense...

All about health. I think him and harden will mesh fine and he'll get lots of open looks. But again, I'm not confident his body will hold up. If it does he'll average 15 ppg

As long as he can consistently hit the open three, I will be happy!

I expect him to be injured for 30+ games but when he's not I hope he'll average 10 or more on 40% shooting from 3.

Based on what the Rockets are paying him, I think their expectations are much higher than ours.

    I am guessing 12 - 15 ppg and around 65 games played. About 39% 3-pt %.

I wonder what Morey is expecting realistically.

At this point, you simply cannot expect Eric Gordon to stay healthy for a full season. Once one of the most promising young guards in the league, the 27-year-old has not played 65 games in a season since he was a rookie back in 2008-09, and is coming off a season with 37 missed games. He was productive when he took the floor, of course, averaging 15.2 points, 2.7 assists and 2.5 3-pointers per game, as he continued to cement his place as one of the better 3-point shooters in the league. He should fit in well in Mike D'Antoni's offense, both as a second unit ball-handler and spot-up shooter next to James Harden, and he should put up similar numbers as last season. http://tinyurl.com/ErGordon

I expect him to excite at times, be out of shape and recovering from injury frequently, and wearing a suit a lot.

I expect his 20m contract to provide him with some top notch suits for sitting courtside. One of the highest paid spectators with a great seat.

I honestly expect him to be a shadow of his potential. Anything past that would be great.

11 PPG. ~50 games. Good spacing off the bench, limited role. We will have a similar thread next summer.

I don't expect him to play defense, but that's not why we got him. We really need him to be healthy for a majority of the season and to provide a scoring punch off the bench. If he can do that, he'll exceed my expectations.

trollolol. He was a decent player (at best) hyped by the media during his Indiana years. I watched him play often back then because my buddy was a huge Pacers fan. He was never special, rather placed in a system where he could score/look good on the stat sheet. Reason I remember so vividly is because of how much the media pissed me off with their misplaced praise.

In any case, I would be thrilled if he can stay healthy let alone score 18 a game.

I expect for him to be in the conversation for second best player on the team . Health is always a gamble and I can't expect/predict it . History has shown that he has struggled staying healthy , but maybe in a different role and with different physical staff he can put together a mostly healthy campaign . Bev/James/Gordon is a really good offensive combo . If These guys can rebound defensively to points they were at in earlier seasons we will have an awesome backcourt .

    16 ppg on decent efficiency.

    Some ball-handling.

    Not much else.

While Eric might not have the athleticism he used to have, in some ways he's a better basketball player. A guy that's now able to plug into the team and play within himself. It's taken perseverance and discipline to keep coming back from all those injuries. His natural maturation combines with this to make him a steal. EGO's reigned in game is going to shock some folks. Of course there is the laundry list of injuries, but the way he plays now decreases the risk a bit. It's an acceptable AND necessary risk as far as I'm concerned.

Has anybody come from perpetually missing as much time as Gordon and scored 15-18 PPG - even if injured a good bit still?

I'm telling you - it's going to be in his head. Even if he is totally healthy, he will be settling for jumpers exclusively, staying away from contact. Look at his stats. When he was with the Clippers, he got 7 FTA per game one season. Last year, just 2.8 FTA per game. Same minutes. For that money, I expect more than Troy Daniels/Jimmer Fredette.

His pay is basically of a borderline All Star - discounted heavily due to the probability he will be injured a bunch. Seems the thought is 65% chance he way outplays the contract and 35% chance it's a total writeoff. So, his salary is 65% X borderline All Star money.

You guys sound like you'll be satisfied if he's just a little dime a dozen 3 point specialist spotting up out there. As I said, you don't need to pay one of them this money.
