I will pick a high quality bottle of wine out of my cellar. Considering either an Opus One (Napa) or a Le Dome (San Emilion - Bordeaux)
I've been a Wino since radiation. EEEK!! Boxed wine, too. It takes the edge off. I should be pickier, but I've never been a drinker. I've only hit the bottle when my health has hit rock bottom. My girl laughs at me because I love white wine, but I cannot stand red wine. (Yes, I know, judge away, haha) Any suggestions for some good white wine? Nothing too expensive...20-40 bones tops. I'm not trying to be Mick Jagger before an optional practice the following day with my college players. Just something tasty and strong enough to kill that burning sensation in my body. (If that's even possible lol) For NYE, I'll be doing the same, writing my final chapter and hoping for a better 2016.
There's nothing wrong with white wine. For some reason in the US it's gotten a bad connotation as some kind of inferior product or girly drink, but in almost every other part of the world they do not have this stigma. They're considered on par with reds. I drink white wine all the time and there are some truly amazing white wines out there. For a recommendation on a mass-market white wine in your price range, you can try the #1 selling wine at Specs! Kendall Jackson Chardonnay. It's about $20-$30/bottle and you can find it most anywhere.
I've been leaning heavily on reds and whites from the Ribera Sacra lately. For beer, it's a Pilsner world...and I'm just living in it. In Austin, the ABGB makes the best Pils for my taste. Hans' is ol' reliable...
