Kevin Ollie retired to join Jim Calhoun's coaching staff anyway.

I wouldn't mind picking up Mardy Collins. He can play the 1 or the 2, and he's a very good defender.

    Brooks, Lowery
    Martin, Taylor
    Ariza, Budinger
    Scola, Hill, Patty
    YM, Miller

    Upgrade in the starting lineup

    Turn Ariza into Melo/Granger/Iggy/Wallace
Turn Brooks into CP3/DWill/Rubio(the last one based on the assumption Morey loves him)

If we got a legitimate starting small forward, I'd be happy with this roster for years to come. I like Battier/Ariza/Budinger as bench players, but none of them are good enough to start on a team which lacks a star player.

If we're going to basically beat everyone by being the most well-rounded team this area needs to be addressed. I don't know whether that means Iggy, Granger, maybe even Luol Deng, but another quality wing is what I'd focus on getting.

A "hey, I am excited to stay with the Rockets" comment from Lowry. I have not heard or seen any response from him. Maybe he had hoped to go elsewhere.

A ball handling 3rd string would be nice but not a necessity.

We have such a deep team now an iggy trade would make them solid contenders. As long as the trade doesn't involve current starters minus ariza or buddinger and battier if possible I'm all for it. I like ariza but iggy has more of tenacity and someone we could put the ball in his hands to create a shot for those around him. Unless he's driving to the basket I don't want him taking that shot though:)

I'm fine with giving hill and picks if that is what the sixers want

Even with no more additions I'm excited to watch this team with a healthy yao

martin can handle the ball.. so can ariza.. did u notice he put up a triple double last game of the year .. i know one game is not a career make but if he can get 10 assists in a game he can certainly help out with handling the ball ..
yao if healthy can come through in the clutch .. ariza has shown the ability to come through at times in the crunch .. scola certainly doesnt shy away .. and we have brooks who is becoming a good clutch player ..

ofcourse if yao is hurt again we are in trouble but what were we supposed to do with yao .. he had a player option which he took .. we have to live with yao until his contract is up and if he cant be healthy we try to move on ..

clearly rockets can use improvements .. the best they could do was load up on expiring contracts, young desirable players and draft picks.. since no one has really wanted any of that in the offseason (with the exception of draft picks) we have to wait till the trading deadline to use our chips .. if nothing happens we can try to take the picks and move up in the draft the next year and improve that way ... thanks to morey while we wait for our options to develop, we have a exciting team on the floor every night.

This is our best team in 6 years..a top 4 team in the west to me. Whether we can contend for a championship depends on a few things.

    1. Yao has to be the most dominant presence on both ends of the floor in his limited minutes.
    2. Role players, lowry/bud/hill/ariza/battier/hayes/patpat must raise their collective games and become one of if not the best supporting cast in the league.
    3. All our other bigs, Brad Miller/Hill/Scola/Hopefully someone else have to have extreme focus on defense and rebounding and guarding the paint/rim when Yao isn't in there. They basically all have to play out of their minds on the defensive end.

Big IF's there but I'm keeping hope alive that this team can compete against the LAs and Miamis.

A health Yao, we can be great contenders this season if Yao comeback healthy.
But the Question is can we contend with the lakers.?? ummm, I don't know, I think we still aren't there yet, even though I think our team is way better than their's, but they have great advantage bcuz of their height, but still IMO with the acquisition of B Miller gave us great depth at the 5.

    Your "Injury Insured" Houston Rockets

STOP THE PRESSES!! HANG UP THE PHONES!! The Rockets are done. Don't make any moves for the rest of the season, unless necessary. This team is now complete. The Rockets have enough depth to insure themselves against any big  injury including Yao. Now if Yao were to get hurt  , then we would still have the depth to continue without a hitch. Miller would be able to start while being backedup by Chuck or Hill.
I had always hoped for this day to come and now it is finally here.

    Lets get 'em!!!! ;)

We lack Euros and Africans. And Jews. Could have had Casspi but we traded that pick to the Kings.

as a playoffs contender, we're ready
as a championship contender, we need a star player besides Yao

i think we're done in the free agency this summer, but we still have alot of assets to use to upgrade our rosters. i expect DM to pull a blackbuster either this summer or at the trade deadline. upgrades like: Brooks/Hill to CP3/Okafor OR Ariza to Iggy OR Martin to Granger/Melo. one or even two of those kind of upgrade must happen for the Rox to have a chance get to the Finals. i really hope we can win it all this season 'cause after next season NO team can compete w/ the Heats for maybe 3~4 years

    assets DM can use:
    Expiring contracts: Battier/Jefferies/Anderson(partial)/Hayes/Brooks/Harris
    Young talent: Brooks/Martin/Ariza/Hill/Budinger/Taylor
    Draft picks: NY's 2011 1st pick / NY's 2012 1st pick / Hou's 2012 1st pick
    Trade Exception: about $3M
and of course you can always throw in $3M into any trade ;)

I think the untouchables this season are: Yao/Scola/Lowry/Patterson/(Miller)
    my dream team:

    Yao, Miller, Hayes
    Okafor, Scola, Patterson
    Granger, Budinger
    Ariza, Taylor
    CP3, Lowry
