Haha ok, you don't like him I see. Getting rid of Anderson for him to replace Ariza would be helpful. May be the best deal you can get for that contract. I guess we will see what happens. I wouldn't be mad at the deal. Just a rumor someone told me so just sharing.
I think they will magically pull 3 underrated 'stars' out of their hats. Emphasis is on Underrated (maybe undersized).
so far not a damn thing at this point, whenever I see the usual posts like “don’t worry, Morey has something up his sleeve” I remain hopeful, but can’t help but to roll my eyes
DM couldn't even get Mike Scott or Anthony Tolliver. Scott goes to the Clippers on a one year deal and Tolliver to the Wolves.
I'm going to admit right now - I'm too lazy to read previous posts on this thread to familiarize myself with this potential "Big 6." So what's this "Big 6" idea, and why does it seem to look like BS based on Rockets' activity (or lack-thereof) so far. If theyre planning something big, theyre doing an OUTSTANDING job keeping it waaaaay under the radar.
Morey is trying to kill two birds with one stone due to the lack of cap space--use Anderson as trade bait to get a solid rotation player in return. I think there are two requirements here: 1. The player coming back has to be on a comparatively nasty contract 2. The team trading for Anderson can look past the $40 million owed and focus on the other assets...like 2 1st Rounders So without further ado, in no particular order: Allen Crabbe: 2 years / $37 million. 40.7%/37.8%/13.2/4.3/1.6 Brooklyn finally has their 1st Rounder next summer and what better way to strengthen that 1st than by tanking? They get Anderson in return along with future 1sts and we get a serviceable player to replace Anderson's minus value. Nicolas Batum: 3 years / ~ $75 million. 41.5%/33.6%/11.6/4.8/5.5 Due to the ridiculous amount of money left on Batum's contract this might cost the Rockets only 1 1st Rounder. I'm not a huge fan of Hornets-Batum but, again, this is an improvement over what Anderson gave us last year. Jordan Clarkson: 2 years / ~$26 million 45.1%/35.2%/13.9/2.7/2.7 Kyle Korver: 1 year / $11 million 45.9%/43.6%/9.3/2.3/1.2 This would be a combo deal of Clarkson + Korver for Anderson and a couple of 1sts. Both are subpar defenders but Ryan Anderson ain't exactly Ryan Bowen either. This gives us more shooting off of the bench. Danilo Gallinari: 2 years / ~ $44 million 39.8%/32.4%/15.3/4.8/2.0 I'm not a fan of a guy that's gone through so many injuries but, at this point, he's still tons better than Anderson. Move a couple of picks to Jerry West for this lateral move (cap wise). Courtney Lee: 2 years / $25 million 45.4%/40.6%/12.0/2.9/2.4 The Knicks would have to include additional salary but this move would give them some room for their young kids to get playing time. Also, we get to bring back a former Rocket Jonathan Simmons: 1 year / $7 million 46.5%/33.8%/13.9/3.5/2.5 Bismack Biyombo: 2 years / $34 million why bother looking at stats? The danger here is that Simmons will be a free agent next summer and if he bolts you're left with Biyombo for one more year, albeit an expiring contract year. I honestly think Biyombo would be a serviceable big man on this team, much like Montrezl Harrell. Zach Randolph 1 year / $11 million 47.3%/34.7%/14.5/6.7/2.2 Iman Shumpert 1 year / $11 million 37.9%/26.9%/4.4/2.9/1.2 I doubt the Kings would want to take back an extra year of Ryan's contract when they can just let these two contracts expire next summer. But Kings are gonna Kings and maybe 2 future 1sts would work out. Of course, there needs to be a clear value in having both of these players on our roster before we ship them out 2 draft picks. ZBo could be our offense for the 2nd unit along with Gordon. Shumpert.... Otto Porter Jr. 3 years / $81 million 50.3%/44.1%/14.7/6.0/2.0 The Otto Porter Movement continues.
(1) Ryan is from Sac-town (more cow bell!) (2) I am super-biased because I am a fellow Hoya, but sign me up for the OPJ!!!
