This also reminds me of how i never got any Rockets players back when i collected. Very rarely and even then, it was Bullard :(

Next time i'm at the store i'll probably pick up a few packs. I've probably only bought one in the last 10 years.

That's not his dick. It's the shadow from the other players hand.

Wasn't a big basketball card collector when I was a kid, but have a lot of baseball and football cards.

I have all the big names from the 70's. Pete Rose, Reggie Jackson, Steve Garvey, Nolan Ryan, Tom Seaver, Mike Schmidt, Carl Yastrzemski, Jim Rice, etc etc.

Football, I have Roger Stabauch, Bob Griese, Terry Bradshaw, Lynn Swann, Ken Stabler, Fran Tarkenton, Dick Butkus, and many others.

However, my best card is the Topps Walter Payton Rookie Card.

I actually have 2 of these.

I have a friend who did something similar in college, primarily with baseball cards. He had one big 1/5 pull (I wish I could remember who it was) that he sold for several hundred dollars. He used that money to buy a hobby box of a high end product, out of which he had a couple more big pulls, which he then turned around and sold. Before long, he had a nice little side gig going and a ton of base cards and low-end hits to keep.

I still collect casually, but I only collect the things that I really want to collect and intend on keeping. These days, you have to spend so much up front to get anything of real value, so I stick to the things that I want for my personal collection.

just remembered one of my favorite sets.
1994 Topps Stadium Club Super Team Rockets... The Super Team cards were redemption ones, if your team won the Championships that year, you can redeem it for a complete set of the 1994 Topps Stadium Club for that year w/ a special Finals logo on it.

    found a set on ebay.

One of my happiest moments as a collector!

Its probably no where near the most valuable one I have (I dont keep track of these things) but I have a gold embossed Hakeem Olajuwon card that is from Skybox from memory. I cant remember the year tho. That is the one I prize above all others.
