HDR-SR10 - Sony 40GB 1080iHD HandyCam (up to 1920x1080). No amateur pr0n requests, please.

I got to WorstBuy and I saw this camcorder. I really wanted it. Then I went to look to its more advanced, more expensive "big brother" camera. I called home. I asked the Mrs. if we could afford the most expensive one. She said NO. She asked if there was a less expensive one. I offered to buy the lower-priced one, the one I really wanted. She said YES to that one.

That's not where it ends. I get home. She sees it, I test it, and she is impressed it does such good job recording video. She asks where is my photographic new Digital Camera. I say I didn't buy one. She says she thought that's what I was buying ALSO in addition to the CamCorder. The joke was on me. :D I could have had MORE.

I checked WorstBuy's Online thingiemajig, and they have it for less ONLINE. I went back and got the difference.

Some of the best things I've bought:

    1) Tivo: bought it when it first came out in the late 90's...I still have both, one finally crapped out recently...:(

    2) SoniCare toothbrush...

    3) Sony SLR camera...

    4) Mitsu DLP/Onkyo Rec./PS3...I love my set-up...

    This is a good thread.

Canon Powershot Digital Elph Camera - Easily paid for itself and then some.

Blackberry Curve - I had a Razr for the longest and I didn't think there was much of a difference. Safe to say I was wrong.

Pair of $10 house shoes from Wal-Mart.

I still own a pair of black Polo boots I bought around 10 years ago. They're still in good condition and comfortable as hell.

Adidas Slippers - I've bought three pair my whole life and you can put them through hell and back and they will last you a long time.

Probably around the 5K mark for the frame and mattress (can't remember the breakdown). We did get a nice frame that we'll have around for at least another 30-40 years. The mattress is a firm Sterns and Foster king.

Maybe it doesn't matter as much to some people, but being a lifelong insomniac, having a quality bed is important to me. I wish I could fall asleep in 15 minutes on any surface, but I do sleep pretty well on my mattress. Definitely one the better purchases I have ever made.

At first, it was 899 at WorstBuy, not on sale, not on the flyer, and I took it home. I needed it the same night (actually, to record something the next day). Then, I researched, and found that ZoomMania in Phillie had it for 569... I said "wow" and then I printed it out to show the WorstBuy people. Then, I looked up their pricematch policy and saw that they didn't honor online retailers, so I checked the price for WorstBuy online. They had a combo for a tripod plus the same HandyCam for 709 ( <- I was like that). I took THAT into them, and they couldn't honor THAT tripod in the combo, 'cuz it was an online offer only, but they could match their own price only for the camcorder. So I ended up paying $709 for the convenience of having it sooner than the delivery from ZoomMania. I think I didn't get the BEST price, but I did get the camera sooner... when I needed it. What did you think about it, sir?
