Good call on home slice! A friend of mine took me there a few months ago, and that pizza kicks ass!

The Boyz Cellar is fun -- Vince Young is there a lot during the off season.

tacos : guero's on south congress or el chilito on manor rd just east of I-35, absolutely great stuff. taco alternative: try flip happy crepes, near riverside and south lamar

    bbq: rudy's (multiple locations)

sunday brunch: south congress cafe (get there early!!!)

burger: hut's on sixth street (big burgers), or p. terry's on riverside and south lamar (in-n-out style)

bars: take your pick. i like speakeasy, cuba libre, saba, ginger man, and fado.

daytime activities: mt. bonnell, kayak town lake, swim barton springs, bike/hike to sculpture falls on the greenbelt (call the hotline first to check water), run town lake trail and watch the bats fly from congress, visit the capitol, visit UT campus, boutique-shop up and down south congress

nighttime: catch a special feature at alamo drafthouse, eat at magnolia cafe, get dessert/coffee at mozart's cafe or spider house cafe

    live it up!

    Got to go to Rudy's.

Now that i moved away from Austin, and Texas in general, I miss the BBQ so much.

I mean where else are you going to find the Cutter Cam?

oh yeah : and if you're looking for a good solid dinner spot....

    MOONSHINE

hands down, best value/best food there is for dinner and drinks. absolutely blows everything out of the water in semi-upscale dining. all the flavor with zero pretentiousness. popcorn pail for pre-dinner snacks and water in mason jars. must must must get the peanut-butter mousse pie.

One of the newer trends here in Austin is the "mow it forward" craze. It's a blast! You get to mow a stranger's lawn, and then go back home to tell all your friends about it! You better hurry though, because the slots get filled fast. Email me through the board - I know of one on the NW side.

Drive on some secluded roads... Romantic... Sometimes you don't know where the time went... And you realized you were abducted.

I say do yourself a huge favor: go to Fredericksburg (not that far) and visit the Museum of the Pacific War. Just incredible, and you'd have it almost to yourself.

And if you are already in Fredicksburg then you should go to Enchanted Rock -- probably my favorite hiking spot in all of Texas (including Big Bend).

Haven't been there, but you might want to give the Texas state cemetery a visit if you are into Texas military history. Many war Texas war heroes are buried there. Plus it's right near downtown so it isn't too far out of the way.

When is your Spring Break? Because if it falls during March 15-22- the whole downtown area is going to be a zoo as usual due to SXSW.

Why is everyone recommending Rudy's? Please don't listen to them - Rudy's is a chain. There are so many BBQ places that are native to Austin.

    Franklin, La, Micklethwait...etc

Tour the capital, eat at La BBQ, see the bats, rent a canoe and canoe down town lake, I mean Lady Bird Lake.
