Not really a femail band per se, but I really liked The Sundays . Harriot had/has an awesome voice. Unfortunatly they haven't done anything in a while.

Garbage
No doubt
Heart
Breeders
Veruca Salt
Four non blondes
Sisters Morales
Sara Hickman
Toni Price
Concrete Blond
Hole
Alison Krauss
I always had a soft spot for the Go Go's and the Bangles too

Actually....I really like female vocalists.....to the point where I probably give a band extra credit just for having a female at the wheel.

Only 1 girl in it, but No Doubt with Gwen Stefani at the lead is a great band for what it is.

Good to see Ani Difranco get some representation.

I don't think she gets enough run.

I only like her because she gets the goods with her following of girls.

I can't believe that TheFreak hasn't posted in this thread and that Rockets2K overlooked Vixen - the best heavy metal all girl band of all-time!

Not really bands but my choices are as follows:

Sarah McLachlan
Liz Phair
The Sundays
Beth Orton
Heart
Pat Benatar
Sheryl Crow
Bjork
Hole
Kate Bush
Joni Mitchell

And even though I don't have any albums by them, I will also include the Cranberries.

It took 25+ posts to get Sheryl Crow:confused:

No one mentioned Melissa Etheridge:confused:

Janis Joplin is a good call as was Four Non Blondes.

I feel pretty remiss about that. I've only had the hots for her for a couple of decades. I'm also fairly fond of Jewel.....regardless of how 'pop' she's turning.

The Pretenders
Blondie

...are okay, no one's mentioned them.

Anyone heard of Lacuna Coil?

Glad to see S-K pop up early in this thread... as a bass player, I have an immense amount of respect for the band... anyone who can write so many great songs and not even need a bass to do it... wow. Listening to Carrie's cool guitar lines made me go out and buy a Ric. Such a cool band...

I lost a lot respect for her when I found out that she writes all of Pinks "songs". Pink is horrible.

No love for Missing Persons?!?!? All the guys in her band are Zappa veterans, including her brother Terry Bozzio on drums.

I hear they're supposed to be awesome, but I haven't heard any of their stuff. What album of theirs should I get?
