Wow. You're better than that. Are you really trying to say Morey only use advance analytics when drafting a player. Because if you are that's clearly wrong.
He makes great defensive plays irregardless of what the spurs did 5 years ago. With Parker and Gino, he isn't relied upon to make plays. He just does what he needs to do to help his team win.
You think Mchale would make Leonard the player he is right? No. Leonard would be standing in the corner watching pick n rolls.
The very definition of a role player. Leonard is a good defender and rebounder for his position... But how is it that Lebron has had a tough time scoring when Danny Green is on him, or anyone else on the Spurs for that matter? Pretty damn good strategy and having a guy named Tim Duncan manning the middle maybe?
We drafted chandler parsons in the same draft, who IMO is just as good as leonard if not better. I ain't mad. Parsons 15.5 PPG 5.3 RBG 3.5 APG 1.0 STLPG .486%FG .386% 3PT Leonard 11.9 PPG 6.0 RBG 1.6 APG 1.7 STLPG .494%FG .374% 3PT Plus, we stole scola.
No I don't , it was a hyperbole. He does need to get better at looking at the facets that don't show up on a chart though, like ethic, and translatability
Not with Clutchfans. Just saying. No one here picked Morris that season. Most wanted either of Leonard, Faried or Vucevic(because we still needed that center). I even mentioned Iman Shumpert and Marshon Brooks.
People get too caught up in the moment with a playoff series. They tend to over- or under-value players based on what they see over the course of 7 games against a single opponent, irregardless (sic) of if it provides a good or bad matchup for that player. Where was all this talk about Leonard during the 82 games where he played a good sampling of teams?
Switch lenoard with parsons and chandler would be balling on that spurs team too. In fact he'd be playing better as he shoots the rock better. It's all perspective, and the hype that surrounds the playoffs.
