How dare we draft Eddie Griffin instead of Tony Parker?

We actually could have had both Leonard and Parsons. I have to admit, the Rockets drafting is hit or miss. For the past 3 seasons it's been more on the miss side.
Like passing up Leonard, Vucevic and Faried for a player who is no longer on the team. You would think that professionals would have a better track record than a bunch of armchair GM's. Not the case in the past few drafts.

If you're going to knock Morey for passing on people in the draft, then you rally need to focus on Marc Gasol. And to lesser extents Batum and Asik before you can get to Leonard.

i like kawhi a lot. but parsons is a different type of player. his D is not as lockdown, but his playmaking/ballhandling/clutch shooting make him just as valuable if not more than kawhi.

I will not solo out any particular person, but one has to realize that when the Rockets seem to always miss out on a prospect, that means that many other teams also missed out as well. A lot of times, all 29 other teams missed out. Will you blame 30 teams for passing on Brad Miller twice? San Antonio cut Danny Green twice. Gary Neal went undrafted. Kwahi Leonard was out of the lottery (many teams passed on him). There are so many examples of such things. Having a perfect track record is just unrealistic. Quite frankly, Morey has been spectacular at the roster overhaul this year; mistakes happen.

Kiwi was the safe choice. Murray still has a lot to learn, his 1st round track record is pretty bad. AB/Scola/Landry were the previous GM's picks (forgot his name wow) + AB was adelman's.

Chandler is only marginally worse than Leonard at this point, but has higher NBA upside. I think his next major improvement will be in the realm of using his length to act as a playmaker. He's begging to realize how easy he can get to the basket.

Could you imagine how good Parsons would be in the Spurs system? If Parsons had the Spurs shooting coach? Spurs are already flirting with the Idea of Kawhi becoming the face for the spurs after everyone retires. I can see Parsons as the face of a franchise before I see Kawhi.

Isn't the draft in general, hit or miss?

no, you can draft players you know will be decent rotational players. Its called the safe pick. You evalute your decision in the context of everything, not just stats like Murray does.

Morey is an absolute disgrace for trading for guard who averaged 26 points a game.

Let's cry over a role wing-player whose great night consists of scoring 16 points and creating jack **** for other players.

    Whoop dee doo.

There is no such thing as a safe pick. Otherwise, players like Sheldon Williams and Wes Johnson would've had long stable careers in the NBA.

Picks aren't safe becaues it's impossible to determine how a ~20yr old person starting his first professional job will perform in the future simply by looking at his resume.

Lemme guess you have no concept of Spurs defense beginning and ending with Tim Duncan anchoring the middle...

Or that the Spurs absolutely shut out Lebron in the 2007 championship without Leonard.
