Quick question concerning Steve's elbow to Amare:

Does anyone know exactly what Amare was yelling?

Just wondering if maybe there were some words thrown in his yelling that might have upset Steve.

I'm sure this was discussed to death in the game thread, but can you blame me for not wanting to look through all that?

    Dumbest remark I've ever heard.

    29 points, 19 rebs, 6 blocks (including 4 blocks present him:D), and

I knew you guys were biased but cmon. Amare's dunks were a lot better than Yao's dunk. Amare didn't even try to block Yao's dunk.

I can't even imagine how upset this board would be if after a Steve Francis dunk, where he slapped the backboard and yelled, an opponent elbowed SF in the neck. This board would call that guy a dirty player and wouldn't forget it for years the same way that many people on this board still hate SAR.

As for the postgame comments, what are you guys so mad about. Steve Francis and Cuttino Mobley have said things a lot worse than "he got a lot of easy baskets." Does SF ever give credit to an opposing team or player?

I'm sure Suns fans say the same thing about Amare in compariosn to Yao's skills like seeing the court, ability to draw the double team, and being able to knock down a 10 foot jumper

I think most of us arent upset that he didnt give creidt where credit was due, we were just making ufn of Amare because of his poor use of the word "but". I guess this is what happens when kids get paid to play basketball for prep schools and then skip college.

Are you crazy? That was probably one of the funniest things all year when Marbury crossed Yao over and he fell. That isht was funny as hell. I love it how Yao is a God here. No one can say anything about Yao, no one can dunk on Yao. Yao can do no wrong and can get done no wrong. I didnt see anything at all wrong with the statement AS made. I mean come on I think he did do a pretty good job, cause for one Yao is 6 inches plus taller than AS who is not a TRUE center and #2 they won the game. After the every loss our whinny little fans come out. You win some you lose some baby stop acting like little broads about this and hope that we can put together another 5 game string....

Well, first of all, you're not going to get Amare and a PG for Steve. But even if he could, the kid would NOT be very happy seeing Yao being the center of this offense. The guy's not exactly a team player. Just look his shooting last night, 7-26! Yet he kept shooting while Marion and Johnson were clearly having better nights. Good lord, if Steve did what Amare did last night, there'd be 50 Trade Steve threads in GARM now.

It's pure envy, and the worst part about it is there is no need for it. He won ROY, get over it folks. I'm sure most GM's would rather have Yao.

Amare is a pure dunk machine, that's the only reason he has any kind of exposure.

At best Amare can aspire to become the second coming of Shawn Kemp

Doesn't respect go both ways? Apparently not in your book. He disrespects Yao and you have no problem with that. Fans (although some overreactionary ones) respond and you have a problem with that. Nice.

I'll just go back to what I always say about other players opening their big fat yappers. We can complain all we like about our guys because they are OUR guys. But, a player from another team does it and it is ON.

Yeah, Amare is a talented kid. Yeah, Steve probably shouldn't have given him the forearm - Olajuwon would've gone with the elbow - more effective. :)

But, as far as I'm concerned, he can take that weak-ass whining and cram it down his pie hole. Don't talk smack when Yao nearly dropped 30/20 on your punk ass. Damn.

I'm still shocked that no one has mentioned that Amare really didn't dunk ON Yao. I looked at the replay, and it seems more like he dunked around Yao, but I wouldn't necessarily call it dunking on him.

I guess anytime Yao is around the basket and someone dunks, folks will think he got dunked on.

    wow

batman, i usually feel you, but your totally wrong on this one. amare is like dominique wilkins but not as talented. amare was trying to disrespect yao all game, and francis didn't like it. whats the big deal? isiah once said that your team is like your gang, you always have your guys back (or something like that), so who cares if he got pissed at amare and let him know it. its like tossing a little chin music in basball after hittin a homer.

and amare fans can go to hell. this is a rocket board, if you dont take offense to some punk talkin about his great game defending someone who essentially dominated him, then perhaps your not a rockets fan. amare was just there, he scored a few, but his performance was nothing more than one highlight dunk. big deal. hope he enjoys the fishing.

when did basketball get so sissy? back in the 70s and 80s, basketball was a more physical game, all of a sudden its gone all soft.

Jesus. Other than that girl who isn't paying attention and that kid besides her, is there anybody under 50 in our front rows?

You plain don't know what the F*CK you're talking about.
    1. I distinctly remember Cato getting a technical after a dunk in which he slapped the backboard (from frustration because Houston was getting hacked hard with no calls). He didn't even scream or taunt at anybody. So the Rockets DO GET TECHNICALS after dunks.

    2. Steve and Cat DO GET CHEW OUT on this board for disrespecting the other teams. Of course you aren't around here enough to know that.

    3. Amare DID try to block Yao, as proven by the above photo.
