They will watch their previous winning matches vs Houston to boost the morale and then ask them to use the previous method to beat Houston
I was actually referring to what if they decide to go under the screen and just give Harden the 3 and basically covering every other option. What would be a way to counter that?
Yeah, francis 4 prez answered it then. Then we have to wonder how Harden scored the 18pts in the 1st Q on game 1 in ref season. Did Harden destroy that strategy and Pops scrapped it in the 2nd half? And there is something to say about no coach doing this in long stretches. It's fun to think of things we rarely or never see and think they might be the answer, but I first say, why don't we see it then. Same approach to when ppl wonder if a rarely seen young bench player is an answer if just given the chance Seems Harden would just maneuver his picks right to his favorite spot and shoot. And there are wrinkles to force switches and such. Plus we aren't totally adverse to using Harden as a 2 coming around screens. We do that every game
Everyone Harden guards is getting the ball, they are trying to tire him out by forcing him to play D. DD
I'm going to disagree with that. Spurs are playing their offense. They are moving the ball. I'm not seeing them single out anyone....they need to play regular Spurs ball, which is ball movement. Plus, Parker was attacking Bev a lot. Harden was camped in the low post whenever we went small, guarding Lee. I don't think they went to him once in that scenario.
Prophetic post. And the guy who posted who was actually on the crew (couldn't find that post). Short list of things off the top of my head: 1. Patty Mills with the worst flop reward of the 2017 playoffs 2. Kawhi tripping over his own feet at half court and Beverley getting a foul 3. Gasol headlocking Ariza and Ariza getting a foul 4. Harden getting no fouls on contact under the basket 5. Gasol getting no fouls on over-the-back rebounds or across-the-arms swipes for rebounds 6. Ginobili telling Tony Brothers "I was shooting!" and Tony Brothers changing the foul on the floor to a shooting foul 7. Kawhi plowing around the perimeter like a running back with his off-ball hand as a stiff arm - and getting "fouled" when his defenders fell over Yes Harden played like Brian Cook, we couldn't rebound, and the Spurs executed to perfection.... but this lopsided contact crap was just a multiplier on everything that went wrong.
I gotta say , I almost can't believe how much gasol got away with . Remember Clints fast break ? Clint scored but got smacked across the arm clear as ****ing day . The scary part is that even though SA has a notorious HC advantage , TC really doesn't move the needle . We've gotten screwed at our own house far too often for my tastes and I have a bad feeling the The refs are going to continue to let SA get away with murder . After all , the NBA wants a long series . And definitely doesn't want either team resting up in the case that GS doesn't sweep .
The Rockets must punish Pop and the Spurs for running the offense through Kawhi...Period. There is NO reason why Ariza and company cant make him work on his jump shots. The Parker injury gave the team the additional spark they needed to ensure this win, but Parker was destroying our team...They really need his ability to get into the paint. Kawhi is a great player, but he cant initiate the offense...And the Rockets really need to punish Kawhi on the offensive end.
