What adjustments do we have to make?

Considering we're down 0-2, how we've played, the lack of production off the bench aside from Nene in game 1 and Rivers in game 2, the disappearing act of CP3, the neutering of Capela, the lack of rebounding, turnover issues and some others, what honestly do you think we will have to adjust?

I think a few adjustments that need to happen for us to win:

    - MDA has to try to control the game better with time-outs.
    - Nene and Rivers should be the only ones guaranteed minutes off the bench. House next man up and Green, then Shump etc.
    - The bench needs a short leech, cannot allow Shumpert to just hoist up 3 threes in 4-5 minutes if he should play at all. Same with Faried.
    - Faried, I just don't think there's much room for him in this series. We tried in game 2 and cannot afford it at this moment, so really hope Nene is first man off the bench.
    - Harden and CP3 need to have a conversation, we need both to play at a high level and they need to figure out when each of them has it going and or the other is a bit tired.
    - CP3 needs to find a way to be less careless and more assertive. Cannot let Gordon be the PG when you're in the game and Harden is out.
    - Gordon needs to attack more and settle less for threes, he's a great catch and shoot guy, so watching him do the Harden dribble for 10 seconds to launch a contested 3 needs to stop.
    - Capela needs to catch some of those passes, hold on to them and throw it down. Then on defense actually block shots, rebound, box out..

    Strategy wise:
    - stop switching everything when Capela and Nene are switched onto Curry with the ball in his hands.
    - play some zone, at least one guy loses his man and leaving us vulnerable to backdoor cuts, lobs and simple passes into the paint.
    - actually run after we get the steal and not settle for a 3 but attack the basket.
    - run some more pick and roll with Tucker as the roller.
    - run some different sets that does not involve our guys trying desperately to give Harden the ball.
    - have Harden in some mid-range situations, we need that 2015 Harden who'd shoot from anywhere on the floor and was successful with it.
    - let CP3 handle the ball a bit more if he can handle it, if not, then run a play to have him ready to shoot a 3. He's quite good at that.
    - Harden needs to adjust with his passes to Capela, cannot just throw it up or to him.

    What else? Please discuss.

Go big or go home. I’m tired of running out 3 guards and a SF to fill out 1-4.

Faried needs to start so he can play with Pj
Nene and Gordon need to play against 2ND unit.
House and Green need to be in the Corners. And help rebound off any 3's

Small ball needs to have Faried playing at the 5 not Pj he has to guard guys like KD Durant and Steph.

i dont know. warriors seems to have more energy entering the game. we always lose in the first quarter and just couldnt recover well enough to take back the momentum. GS are just keeping us at bay. Durant and Harden are kinda cancelling each other out at this point. so the team that comes out with more controlled energy will actually win. less turn over and more effort on the rebounding side. i hope the CROWD in HOUSTON will help us to atleast gain momentum early in the game. CP3 needs to make his presence felt. he needs to control the phase of the game. he is good at that last season.

    Give Shump more minutes!
All kidding aside, this chump should get zero minutes.

-Stop forcing the lob, it didn't work well after Game 2 of Round 1 and hasn't since. Too many turnovers I noticed specifically from that

-Hustle on every rebound. Too many times assuming they are the only ones around and a Warrior comes like a hawk and just takes it giving their team more possessions = more points for a team like Warriors.

-When the team is in a drought, CP3 needs to use his mid-range.

-Home crowd needs to do their part and be loud throughout the whole game

Paul needs to step up and limit the turnovers.

Harden needs to go down blazing and put pressure on Klay so he won’t have any energy on then offensive to knock down those daggers. We are going to need a mobster night from James

Clint if you can’t get any lobs atleast attack the damn offensive boards.

Gordon needs more shots. He needs to shoot atleast 15 to 22 shots.

House if you want you’re money then perform

    Oh man.

If I could just recommend three things...

    1. This.........
    2. Always put a body on the nearest guy when a shot goes up
    3. Do not make casual or risky passes to covered guys

That accounts for last night's meltdown. You can't spot them 20 points by forgetting fundamentals.

Limit turnovers, rebound the damm ball, and make more baskets.

I don't see why we'd have to make any adjustments. We played well enough to win Game 1 and lost Game 2. Our strategy should have us 1-1 against the most talented team in the NBA looking for a 3-peat, saying bye to their beloved arena, while Durant is on fire.

If we're going to make a minor tweak, I would give some of Capela's minutes to Nene. That's about it. Our strategy has been the most successful one against the Warriors since Durant got there and there are teams with comparable talent to us. The idea that our style doesn't work against them is utterly ridiculous.

I'll say it again: No one else has come close to being as effective as us, while several other teams have comparable talent. All other styles have been less successful. If MDA and Kerr swapped seats, the Warriors would steamroll the Rockets. We are outperforming our talent, they are underperforming with their talent thus far.

You know, it took me until after the game last night, and feeling this feeling of sick disgust just washing over me, the same feeling as from game 1.. and letting some time pass, trying to digest what I had just seen.. and I finally realized something.

First, the Rockets have NOT been playing 'their style' offensively. They just haven't. The team does not resemble the team which was the best in the league after the break. It has looked discombobulated, confused and in complete disarray on the offensive end. Thankfully the defense has remained fairly solid.

But it's not enough to just notice that they are clearly not playing the same way they had been leading up to this point.

    The important question is.. WHY?

I could be wrong, but I think they have outsmarted themselves here. They seem to have paid WAY too much attention to the Clippers series, and appear to have been trying to replicate the strategies and styles employed by the Clips in winning two games in Oakland.

That's the only thing I can think of. And man it just is not working. I feel pretty certain that this is why they are having so many turnovers - asking these guys to change their offense to try to take advantage of what the staff must have perceived as a weakness in the Warriors' defense.

But I think the Warriors just played way down against the Clippers, and the two losses were an aberration, and NOT a formula for a winning strategy against them.

So, believe it or not, I think this is probably good news, IF the staff wakes up and realizes that this change was not a good idea, and they can get back to playing the way they have been for the last few months.

The good news is, even with the abysmal play offensively, and the disarray everywhere else as a result, we still stuck close with them. And all they have done is hold serve. Now we need to do the same. Nothing has changed, we still need to protect our home court and take one on the road. It's still doable.

But they have GOT to abandon the high screen-and-roll with the attempted quick passes to Capela racing to the basket. Golden State is not falling for it at all.

Just play the offense which got you here guys! It will work! Stop this other nonsense!

rebounding and turnovers are the obvious things they need to clean up.

Rivers cannot be your only contributor from the "others". the rest of the guys look unplayable which we have seen before.

We have gone back to the switch everything defense we started the year with since we are playing gsw.

And just like the begining of the year, our rebounding has been horrible.

We adjusted to survive the season, and it always felt temporary, by only switching 1-4 and keeping a big low.

I am starting to think that's what we have to get back to. If we are running small with tuck at the 5, sure go ahead and switch everything. But we really have to start gang rebounding.

Push the pace, protect the ball, play tighter D and gang rebound.
