Oscar Torres is a sufficient backup. We don't need big shooting guards behind Mobley, because they are expensive and redundant.
Hughes is not a cure. We need: -experience -defense -shooting -good attitude I don't see Hughes filling any of those. He's going to ask for a high price to boot. We don't need anymore just scorers off the bench. With a starting lineup featuring 2 20 PPG guards, probably instantly one of the 5 best offensive centers in the league, and a bench with 2 out of Griffin/Taylor/Thomas, Norris, and either Rice or Nachbar, we'll have plenty of firepower.
We don't need scorers, we need well rounded players who will play defense and do things that "don't show up on the scorecard".
Larry Hughes is the last guy this team needs. He's a shoot-first player (who cant even shoot; he shot like 38% last year). He plays no defense and will not pass. He was such a bad shooter that the Warriors (the WARRIORS, mind you) tried to convert him from shooting guard to point guard. That didnt exactly work. The Rockets could afford to do a lot better than Hughes, even though some scrub team will probably overpay for him.
Larry Hughes is a shooting guard that can neither shoot, nor guard. He is even worse than Jamal Crawford.
