I know we are all happy about the win and the signing of Mike Harris. What will happen to Gerald Green? Is he on the reserve list? I think he is our future Tmac and I wondered why he has to be waived. Hope he is still with the Rockets' future plans
Read the board much? Seriously, try reading the board once in awhile ESPECIALLY before you actually start a thread.
if every player with potential actually reached their potential, thered be 50 TMac's in the league. sadly, some players just dont get it or just arent willing to work as hard as TMac does. i will say this, if there was any team where Gerald could really develop, it would be here.
I doubt he gets signed in the offseason. He'll probably have to play in the summer leagues, and fight for a spot in training camp. It's time for him to prove his worth with hard work, instead of coasting on "potential".
Actually T-Mac has unbelievably rare talent and ability, not just anyone can do what he does with his size and skill set that he possesses, no matter how hard they try. To say the least, we're lucky to have T-Mac. That being said, Gerald Green could be a poor man's T-Mac if he put in some good effort, and a poor man's T-Mac is still an All-Star caliber player.
it was a logical move to waive him, as has been pointed out. 1. his contract ends this year, so the organization doesn't lose any money. 2. this move lowers his value, if he does plan on resigning with us we can get him cheaper. 3. he wasn't going to get any play time, just here so we can evaluate and develop him. 4. morey is never wrong
he did read it he just do not understand release means release not reserve that is all. now as far as next year that is another question
Gerald green has no potential, to have potential you actually have to know how to play basketball. The fact that 2 teams have basically given up on him after evaluating him for such a short period of time means that he is probably the worst player in the league.
forget about green. all these threads about green if he'd have shown ANYTHING at ALL in practice he would have suited up more than 1 game green will have his chance this summer if the rockets are at all interested. it's not like he can get picked up by a playoff team between now and then
Morey said from the start he wasn't going to get gametime. Houston is his home so he can still make the trips to the TC and continue his workouts if that is what Morey has planned for him.
do you know how many players in the last 10 years have been labeled the next jordan or the next kobe, tmac, etc? remember lenny cooke? the ny baller who was supposed to be better than lebron? he's nowhere to be found. there are tons of kids who have the talent and potential to be up there with the likes of tmac and kobe, but for some reason or another, they always fall short. tons of kids can shoot, jump, dunk, and dribble, but its the intangibles that tmac has that separates him from the kids who never reach their potential. thats no knock on tmac's talent, but there are alot of kids out there who are blessed with the physical gifts to do what tmac does, but they dont have the intangibles such as the instincts and work ethic to put it all together. natural talent will only get you so far. tmac's one guy who's shown the will and drive to do more than rely on his physical gifts.
Love picking up Mike, but hate to lose a young talent like Green. Not sure if we have room for him after this summer either, if Mutombo and Justin stay, because everyone else pretty much will stay as well.
