Then you have the Stro Show all over again and we may be able to get a bargain for a 22 year old PF.

He and his agent might want that, heck, I would want a contract like that too, but nobody is going to pay him that.

He might get 7-8 mil a year, count himself lucky if he does that.

My guess is he gets 6-7 a year by a bargain shopper (Orlando, Milwalkee, Memphis, Bobcats, NO?) with a little cap room beyind the MLE, just enough so that it takes MLEs out of the picture. But it is always possible those teams see bigger fish right now or on the horizon and say no thanks to using their cap room for him, leaving a bunch of MLE offers on the table. Mike James and Swift over the last 2 years are perfect examples of guys who few thought would have to settle for the MLE late in their contract year and that is exactly what they had to do.

    Sura+Snyder (3.840+2.358=$6.2m)

novak and lucas would make it $7 million

vspan would make it $8 million

of course it'd be through sign and trade. while the players included offer no immediate value as players, if orlando is in the race, they could trade those expiring contracts at the deadline to acquire someone.

You mean Bonzi Wells. Screwed up his contract negotiations and we got him for cheap.

i could see the bucks or memphis overpaying for this guy. Even though the rockets have made some bone-head moves in the past, i dont see them overpaying for the services of darko..
you make a great point though.
