We can pay what ever Les is willing to pay! We are not resticted by anything else! Every year we get close to having a great team then the Rockets management let most of the available better players go to other treams and then they start looking for some one slightly over the hill or near Scrubs to paly for the lowest sum they can get away with. I just hope that Morey isn't planning for us to have TEMP HELP at the Power Forward .
I don't know why but I keep thinking about Moses Malone when I think of Darko coming here.... We gave up two first round picks for Moses and he became a beast. I don't expect that out of Darko but I have this gut feeling that he will excel in Houston. Get him. Get him. Get him.
dont call me cute you homo. you must have been domin darko and lickin his darko. What is up with all yall "clutch fans" always jumping on the bandwagon. at first you dont like something then you love it. where do yall come up with these horrible proposals? talkin down on v-span b/c he is a man and wont play for our team which screwed his life. what would you do? he is a legend in greece. why would he stay here just to be hated on. when yall think of a trade make it a good one. we dont need crap on the team "mcroberts" is a joke!
Judging from the below article from the Orlando Sentinel, the Magic either do not have his Bird rights or do not wish to exceed the luxury tax. Please see the bold-faced part, suggesting that they need cap room to re-sign him. Thus, if they can't exceed the cap, then the discussion of a sign and trade is moot. If they can, but don't want to exceed the luxury tax threshold, then there is nothing the Rockets could offer them that would tempt them to sign and trade Darko. The best avenue to signing Darko would be to convince him to sign for the MLE to play on a better team. Obviously, this is probably a longshot. http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/orl-mdarko0607jul06,0,7522787.story Magic might want Darko back despite agent's ire But re-signing the 7-footer remains unlikely, even if Orlando can offer him the most cash. Brian Schmitz | Sentinel Staff Writer July 6, 2007 Orlando General Manager Otis Smith said Thursday that despite the bitter feelings expressed toward him by Darko Milicic's agent, the Magic still would like to work a deal to bring back Milicic. "Yes, sure," Smith said. "I've said it all along: We like Darko. I'd like to think the deal could work out for both sides, but I don't know . . ." After the Magic withdrew a qualifying offer to Milicic on Tuesday, rendering him an unrestricted free agent, Marc Cornstein, Milicic's agent, blasted Smith for his handling of the negotiations. Cornstein said Milicic never would play for the Magic again "as long as Otis Smith was general manager." He also called Smith "a liar" for saying Milicic was the Magic's priority and then effectively releasing him, giving most, if not all, of their salary-cap room to Rashard Lewis. Smith said he was negotiating in the best interest of the club and preferred not to debate Cornstein on the rules of engagement. He said he since has left a message for Cornstein. Cornstein did not return calls from the Sentinel on Thursday. The Magic still can re-sign Milicic, a 7-foot power forward, or receive some compensation, but it's a long shot. Smith said he still was trying to work a sign-and-trade deal for Lewis with the Seattle SuperSonics to create enough cap room to sign Milicic, who played the past 1 1/2 seasons with the Magic. Orlando would send a player or two to the Sonics, but it likely has to be completed before the Magic sign Lewis next week. The Magic also could trade another player to another team to create cap room to sign Milicic. Because Milicic was acquired from the Detroit Pistons in 2006 while still under his rookie contract, the Magic still own his "Bird rights," meaning they can sign him to more years and for more money than any team. He likely won't receive more than the midlevel exception (starting at $5.5 million) from other clubs, but it is believed that Orlando's original qualifying offer to Milicic was $6.8 million for one year.
just think if we had timmy t or sheed or artest the toughness our team would posses. that is waht we need and correct me if im wrong but isnt that why everyone loved sura?? our team is almost complete, we just need that one piece
Yeah, I know. Crazy, but I want him. From what I've read, he could become Vlade Divac who was much unappreciated because of his flopping...
Wow this reminds me of the time I worked for a retail outfit that sold CD's, and some little 15-year-old red-headed roly-poly little white-bread wannabe street rapper was trying to shoplift gangsta rap CD's, and he was all 'Keepin it real' talk, and repreSEN-ENN. But seriously though, it's actually a good thing when fools like this dipstick express themselves - it makes it so much easier to identify them and thus avoid them.
