We don't have the entire MLE left so Bonzi can not be signed. We have 3.5 left and some of that will be used on JL3 according to the chronicle. Also Bonzi turned down a deal to make 6 mil a year.

Korver's skill set reminds of Dell Curry's. Beautifully quick release and good off of screens. But that's all you'll get from him. Definitely not a JVG guy. Best hope is that Novak can shoot in NBA games. Can't have 2 guys with that kind of skill set. MLE is better used somewhere else.
Damon Jones is a quote machine and decent shooter but not a JVG guy either. But it'd be fun to hear from this hometown guy throughout the year.

No one is saying to use the MLE on Korver. In fact we can't even if we wanted to. He's not a free agent. We are saying to use our trade exception on him. This benefits both teams as Philly is looking to get rid of Korver anyways. And you can never have enough shooters on a team. Plus this team has none other than Luther, and now maybe Novak.

Alston, Snyder, and V-Span are NOT great shooters. Korver would play the role of John Barry from 2 years ago, and he'd be perfect for it. We need a shooter like him to space out the floor.

exactly john barry was pretty bad defensively as well, but he could space the floor out, thereby opening up more scoring chances for yao. korver could fill the same role, plus hes younger, as good if not better shooter than barry, and is more athletic (thats not saying much though). he can get better defensively once JVG learns him some

    idk about Korver.

Yes, he's a good shooter. He's a pretty good rebounder for a sf. But he isn't just "okay" on d, he's horrid.

So it's a bunch of fuss about a backup forward. Not even a super sub, but maybe even more of a situational guy. ehhhhh.

    And **** Damon Jones.

looks like the pool of money for the MLE just got a little smaller...the rockets used some to sign Novak to a 3 year deal instead of the typical 2 year contract for a 2nd rounder...they must be really high on him...sounds like the JLIII deal is coming soon...i doubt the rockets have any intention of signing anyone else...from here on out, sounds like any transactions will most likely involve trades and the TE.

i know this is a forgone conclusion, but just something from espn.com:

John Lucas III to sign with Rockets, agent saysAssociated Press

HOUSTON -- Guard John Lucas III plans to sign with the Houston Rockets, his agent said Wednesday.

The 5-foot-11 Lucas, son of former Rocket John Lucas Jr., played with the team under two separate 10-day contracts last season as a rookie.

Agent David Falk said the experience formed a bond between the player and the team.

"We have an agreement in principle with a few nuances to work out, which we will in the next day or two, and then he'll sign," Falk told Houston television station KRIV.

The younger Lucas also played with the Rockets' summer league team.

Lucas went undrafted out of Oklahoma State, where he was selected the Big 12 player of the year in 2004.

Damon jones is someone i dont want. He thinks that he is the best shooter in the world  I don't like players who are over confident and dont show anything.

I wouldn't try to get kyle korver either.

Jon brought hustle, fire and a high bball iq three things that jvg loves and I have yet to see korver display on a consistent basis.
