I agree. I too believe Battier should retire a Rocket; if the price isnt right. Frankly, if we can get young talent, its well worth dealing him. How many games has Battier helped us win? How many times has he led us to a victory? We are in rebuilding mode and should be doing just that. Battier is a great piece to any championship puzzle. Problem is, we are nowhere close to being a championship team.

Two lottery-protected first round draft picks.

Agreed! For example, the timing of the Landry trade was just terrible. Landry had lost all of his value by the time Morey traded him.

Battier is a professional and a true leader. I hope Morey is able to maximize the return he gets for him.

I like Battier but it's time to upgrade the SF position. Battier might be a leader but his leadership doesn't make up for the fact that he can't score or defend the way he used to. Again, I like the dude but if the right deal comes along then you pull the trigger.

Why should we trade Battier? Morey should do everything possible to keep the current players who are solid defenders/actually try on defense... If he is going to make a trade, which he should, he needs to focus on bringing in more length and athleticism. Defense doesn't only win championships, it wins regular season games too... something the Rockets haven't been very good at doing the last 2 seasons

Battier is a professional and a true loser. I hope he retires in misery somewhere else.

The Teflon Don will stay a Rocket specifically to torture you, leebigez & company. :p It is futile to resist the Teflon Don because he is the Teflon Don.

I take comfort in knowing that, as a fan, I will far outlast Battier as a player. :)

As a player, yes. But Battier is coming back to buy the team and hiring Chuck Hayes as the GM. The team will continue to focus on acquiring Teflon Dons on its roster. Your nightmare will not end.

If we can win with him,it's fine with me. The chances of that are low.Battier himself admitted we need a horse. These aren't my words. A healthy Yao Ming replacement isn't gonna just drop in. Shane will do better elsewhere. That doesn't mean that he should be dumped for junk. Iggy is far better than him,and he can fit in as a 3,so can Granger.
