You know, I'd be hard pressed to think of a player I'd want less than Vin Baker. He's the absolute bottom of the barrel as far as I'm concerned. No way, Jose.

and be responsible for the rest of his contract? Even if cap room were there?

Be serious. Vin's not, about his career, that is.

Baker is a premier PF. But he needs more time to sort out his problems. If his heart is not in it, he'll be no help to our team. So, I'd say give him time.

It's important to note that Baker has alcohol problems. Not "JAIL" problems. So, this is not the same as an EG issue.

    LOL!!!

He was a good player on the Bucks.
Then he had that one year(probably sold his soul to the Devil) with the Sonics.....since then he's been a chump.
Maybe he can call Kemp so they could get together and talk about where their lives went wrong............

Baker can take Eddie's place in appealing to the mentally unstable portion of our fan base, many of whom can be found right here on this BBS.

plus the rockest inconstant play this season is enought to make any man start drinking more. not a good place for someone trying to stop drinking.

Baker IS still the same *person* that he was 5 years ago. The reason that he's not playing well is BECAUSE of his alcoholism. His heart/mind/body is not into it. So, "Chump" is another word for "letting alcoholism get the best of you."

Let's not confuse that with is ability to play. He still can do it, it's just that he can't right now....Now, if he ever gets his life together, I'd say pick him up.

Being able to play the game isn't something that you just "forget how to do."
So, if he's available next year, and he's got his life together, then I say pick him up.

P.S. I've alway wondered about the "sold his soul to the Devil" part. Because with the Bucks he never had any presure. "Big Dog" Robinson was the "star" on that team. When he went to the Sonics, there were a few games in the play-off that he *MISSED some key freethrows..." Then it was known that Baker kinda "choked" on the line. He's never been that good at the line. But then it was known. And I think he cracked because of it.

Baker's a guy that gives new meaning to the phrase "find the open shot"...
