You have been reported to the Mod for misbehaving towards another poster! Why do you have the need to curse at OddsOn?

I refrain from posting the DD as I normally come in here to watch a few brainwashed Repubs spit Glenn Beck rhetoric like it is truth, yet fail to see the bigger picture beyond Blue and Red colors.

There is nothing wrong with Social Medicine. Infact, Social Medicine is a JUST AND FAIR route, compared to letting all the people die of fevers because they can not afford a REASONABLE COST insurance because well, there is none available.

You "conservatives" harp on morality and claim all life is sacred and yet didnt do squat to end abortions when you could have for 6 years of full congressional and Presidential control. You talk that life is sacred yet there are 1000's of people dying yearly due to no health care. But its okay right? Since it is no longer a fetus and all, we can just post-birth abortion that poor minority who isnt covered by BCBS or Humana. Ya the Dems are so damn evil because they WANT to keep people alive, even the poor black or mexican ones. SHAME ON THEM.

You want small government eh? Look where that got us, people in need being dropped or denied coverage because they will take up $200,000 a year of the over 100 billion dollar profits these so call "insurance" companies have. I say bring on the health care bill, cant possibly make our current situation any worse.

Oddson, you don't deserve to be cursed at, but just ignore that. uoji and Otto (at least, others too) have made respectful points to you and this is really the first and most important question that came up.

Would you address it? Maybe esteban, who seems to agree with you about a "blatant disregard for the US Constitution by the Democrats." That appears to be completely false, as I understand the rules, but you may have gotten your information from a source that has a big dog in the fight.

If you're shifting to "I just hate the bill," that's okay. I'm not thrilled with it either, but I fully support it, given the alternative and the political landscape we face, and the massive economic timebomb that is the current healthcare "system."

Sam, has tried to address this before with mocoman and others. Why is it that those who are always bleating about things being unconstitutional seem to have so little understanding of the concept?

    Sam, any answers?

The constitution is a simple document?

That might sound simple but it sure as hell is complicated. The Constitution is not a simple document. It can be interpreted to fit many competing arguments.

Which was exactly why it was written that way. Its not like all the drafters of the Constitution had a single vision of what the country be.

I've brought this up before but for those arguing things like the filbuster, reconciliation, deem and pass are unconstitutional Article I of the Constitution allows the houses to decide the rules on how things are passed.

    This is true.

Another point is that it is laughable that anybody believes that either side cares about what the Constitution says. The fact that deem and pass is ok under the Constitution is coincidental.

Neither side, right or left, has cared about the Constitution in the last 20 years. It is all about obtaining and retaining power, plain and simple.

I can just see Jack Nicholson as the Joker in Washington, D.C. saying "THIS TOWN NEEDS AN ENEMA!!!!!!!!!!!!"

I give OddsOn credit for consistency. His pre-elections posts were just as full of misinformation, distortion, and ridiculous rhetoric as his post-election posts.

i respect you more than just about any poster on here, but all you're doing is validating oddson blatantly ignorant posts. the guy isn't looking to have his opinion swayed, he's looking for a soapbox to spew his asinine right wing rhetoric.

just call a spade a spade and be done with it.

I actually think I'm doing my part to fully color in the picture. He's been asked in every respectful way possible, and now he's faced with Frum saying the bill is basically Republican in nature, springing from the Heritage Foundation, and yeah, he goes poof again.

I guess I haven't really watched his schtick too closely before. Cheers.
