Sweetney would be great. I wouldn't mind Allen. I'd take a flyer on Smith, but I'd wait, because he will be cut before the season starts. There is no chance he sees floor-time for Scott Skiles.

Buckner just agreed to Dallas... the pool is drying up... we'd better dive soon before we jump too late and were left with nothing but a splitting headache.

Anyone in favor of bringing in Spree for the MLE?

Use the TEs and future draft picks to trade for any one of: Smush Parker, Antonio Daniels, Sasha Vujacic, Mo Williams, Damien Wilkins, Arvidas Macijauskas, Beno Udrih, Royal Ivey, Luke Jackson, Jaske, or Tony Allen.

PG: Rafer Alston | Bobby Sura | John Lucas III
SG: Smush Parker | Keith Bogans | Luther Head
SF: Tracy McGrady | Latrell Sprewell | Steve Novak
PF: Shane Battier | Juwan Howard | Chuck Hayes
CN: Yao Ming | Dikembe Mutombo | Juwan Howard

Ild also waive Bowen and pick up Wesley for the V.E.

^ I just realized that if we pick up wesley, we would have the oldest 2nd unit in the NBA with Sura, Wesley, Spree, Howard and Deke. The 3rd string is young, the starters are a good mix.

He sucked last time he played and he's sat for a year. Yeah, pay Spree the MLE. Maybe even give him all 5 years.

Is that why JVG tried calling Spree last season after TMac got injured?

I wouldnt say he sucked... but I will say hes much better of an option than Marcus Banks. I think he is very good insurance if TMac goes down again. He has a pitbull mentality and could be the scoring spark off our sorry bench. He can play 2 or 3, defend reasonably, can still slash, etc.

If it werent for his whining about money, Spree would be making more than just the MLE right now.

better option than marcus banks? banks is probably the best on ball defender at the point next to lindsey hunter.

A warning about Rasual Butler: he's a streak shooter that won't improve playing next to Tmac and Yao.

Consider him a higher percentage Antoine Walker. He's either hot or cold, but he's never consistent. Butler can have a guy in his face and drain three's all day. The next day he'll brick all his open looks. I think we should try to find someone more consistent, but I realize he might be our only decent option.

I would Say the main thing now is to get padgett back because I was pissed  when he left, and because when he finds his shot he locks on and turns into a 3 point shooting robot  , and not only that but, he looks best in a rockets uniform :D . As long as they get him I don't care who else they add to the team because our 3 point percentage goes up

Allrite not many quality players are available in free agency now. Rox were after Speedy Claxton which seemed decent, and now he signed with the Hawks. Others like Banks, Stevenson n Murray does not seem like any help for Rox.

I think the best scenario would look like Rox should try to acquire Van Horn(dont know much about his salary but if we can), Spanoulis, Bogans.Wesley n Lucas and call it a season. Van Horn will be good n experienced backup at PF/SF position. Spanoulis hopefully will be a good backup PG/SG solution and you never know he could be our future PG. We need a good defensive SG who can shoot decently from long range and can defend faster guards like Wade n Kobe so i choose Bogans n Wesley who can do a decent job.

    Yao/Mutombo/Another C
    Jho/Hayes
    Battier/Van Horn/Novak
    Tmac/Bogans/Head/Wesley
    Alston/Spanoulis/Lucas

Thats 15 players. What do u guys think?? I really like this lineup. This way we can have good 3point shooters in Battier, Van Horn, Novak, Tmac, Wesley n Head and overall a very good defensive team that JVG would like.

    lol... right.

Although Banks is a good on the ball defender... calling him the best on ball defender at point is a bit ridiculous.

48 min opp stats: players opposite of Banks score at an eFG of 48%, A/TO of 8.5/3.4, and scored 20.1 pts.

For comparative purposes: players opposite of Jaric score at an eFG of 43%, A/TO of 7.4/3.2, and scored 18.3 pts.

To Bank's credit, Jaric is a very good defender... I just think your exaggeration of Bank's abilities is unfounded considering that there are several other on ball defenders that are far superior to Banks, including Jaric...

I don't know why you think that. Not only does Novak have hieght but he is said to have a very quick release.

I'm a big fan of JR Smith, he would be a good fit with the rocket, but I doubt JVG will play him, maybe as his last resort.

I will fkin shoot myself in the head if we get KVH...he is terrible and still in the league because he had a good season playing with kidd. He is not a consistent shooter...wilts under pressure...cant rebound worth squat...and is a major defensive liability. Please dont even mention getting this guy.
