It's true. Compaq/Toyota Center, playoffs/regular season, it doesn't matter. There are tons of Laker fans. Tons of Kobe jerseys. It doesn't help that Laker fans jaw THE LOUDEST at other fans. I was at that overtime loss in the '04 playoffs. Karl Malone (!!!!HSKFHASDJKF) got Yao fouled out in OT by flopping all over the court. We had the biggest Kobe-geared clown in our section. We all wanted to destroy this cat. We had an AWESOME "EA-GLE-COUN-TY" chant going that game. Good times.
Like I said earlier. Season ticket holders sell Laker game tickets for double face value but don't expect them to sell their playoff seats. Remember the Texans/Cowboys game? It doesn't mean there are more Cowboy's fans here. Just a lot of them that like to get ripped off. I for one enjoyed chanting "MVP" and "KoMe" through the arena while waving sad laker fan out when they still had a chance. It made my week and I'd do it again gladly.

Obviously there has always been lakers fans. But this bad? I don't recall it ever being this bad. There were Kobe chants and booing rockets free throws....in a close game! This was not a blow out. And just to make it clear, it was in fact a home game. This was uncalled for. I'm embarassed for my city. Houston is a bandwagon city, plan and simple. Please show me something like this happening in any other playoff team's home so I can feel a little better.

I just find it funny that these people I know that leaves here in Houston. Cheer for the Lakers then when I troll them they get all pissed and stuff. They not even real fans. SMH

Then why are there people who went to the game, that posted here and feel the same way? I dont get what being at the game has to do with this. If I could hear on the tv, it was bad. No way you can defend a rockets home game with Kobe chants and booing rockets, in a CLOSE GAME.
For the most part it wasn't a close game. The Rockets crowd had it's moments when we made a push but after the Lakers bench just handled us for the majority of the 3rd and 4th quarter the Lakers fans were clowning us with Kobe chants (no one in my row had the nerve) . When the Rockets woke up to make the last push to take the lead the fans woke up. What more do you expect? It got LOUD when we made the run and all laker fan could do was boo free throws.
it's true, though, there has been a lot of movement from Cali to TX. a lot of the people are Texan, but there has been a big influx of LA people moving to Houston because of the economy there. played basketball with this dude at the gym in Houston, just got moved to Katy because his parents from Compton found a job here. yeah, he's a Houstonian alright. i'd sure as hell move too. esp with the gas prices.
Yeah it was real annoying especially with the cheering for the lakers in the beginning of the game...damn near felt like staples center in the 1st quarter BUT with some of the "typical" rocket fans that arrive late, the place became a bit more pro rockets. Just ludicrous to have a arena wide "KOBE!" chant and the booing in the 4th was ridiculous. However they were all silenced by clutch 3 after clutch 3 and "BEAT LA!" chants so its all gravy
Its upsetting how the fans were in Toyota Center but with how it all played out with the comeback, I wouldnt have asked for it to be any better. Felt good to see all those laker fans shut up at the end and have nothing to say
YEAH MAN!! that dude looked like such a fool doing all that dancing and crap...did you see him leave?? out of all the laker fans, he was the only one i had a problem with due to all the flaunting he was doing.
