Ever listen to Hellacopters? I'm going to listen to that WIllie Nelson "Countryman" on my way home from work today.
Who, SWTsig? Dave Matthews Band-Stand Up Common-Be (OmegaSupreme, I really dig this album) Counting Crows-Recovering the Satellites. Gorillaz-Demon Days Spoon-Gimmie Fiction The Roots-The Tipping Point Hieroglyphics-Full Circle Zac Maloy-Life
Optiganally Yours - Geppetto Absynthe Minded - Let It Be Twisted Sister - Burn In Hell When People Were Shorter And Lived Near The Water - Danke Schoen Rivers Cuomo - Tomorrow Gorillaz - Fire Coming Out Of The Monkey’s Head Gorillaz Vs. Cake - Never Feel Good and a bunch of Live 8 sets.
Spoon - Gimme Fiction (reminds me of the intelligence that Ween displayed on White Pepper. Groovy fun music that won't get out of your head for days.) Coldplay - X & Y (I've done a complete 180 on this one. Hated it, now I love it. they capture the 80's revival perfectly and it's just what you'd expect from Coldplay. IOW, jomama, you would hate it.) Smashing Pumpkins - Gish (With uncle festers acknowlegment of wanting to re-up this once great, once crappy band, I find myself wanting to listen to them at their peak. It gets no better than Gish.)
Oh man, I just made a GREAT CD purchase: Garage a Trois (Skerik, Charlie Hunter, Stanton Moore & Mike Dillon!) - Emphasizer Other recent CD acquisitions I'm listening to: Newgrass Revival - Newgrass Revival (remaster) and Friday Night in America (remaster) Bela Fleck - Live at the Quick Hot Tuna - Hot Tuna (Remaster) and America's Favorite Jimmy Cliff - In Concert That Garage a Trois is BAD ASS!

i actually smoke a lot less than i used to. RM95, do you listen to any southern-rock jambands? North Mississippi All-Stars are playing Stubbs on the 23rd..... should be a hell of a show.
Let me go ahead and wrap this thread up: My 30-disc changer is currently filled up with discs from 30 different non-mainstream bands that only the incredibly hip can get into.
why, because i think that coldplay is a generic watered down version of what radiohead was doing 10 years ago? ill admit that i havent heard the new album, but if its like the others its not my thing. the singers quote "we are the best looking band in the world" is just about as silly as liam gallaghers boast "i am the greatest singer in the greatest band in the world." i dont know who i will boo harder for at austin city limits - oasis or coldplay wankers! (just kidding - ill definately check out both sets and i promise not to boo. widespread panic on the other hand. those hippies get TWO sets! - BOO! BOO!)
Roxy Music - Roxy Music Manny - love this album....tries to be a little too weird at times, but i like it...put it in between country life at 1 and for your pleasure at 3 Roxy Music - Country Life Genesis - The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway
I meant to post something about this earlier but got *ahem* distracted by other threads here... I just haven't really warmed to the debut, fatman, like I should. It is good but compared to "For Your Pleasure", it pales in comparison, IMO. The 2 Roxy albums that I have really been enjoying of late are "Siren" and "Flesh + Blood". It took a couple of listens on "Siren" but it is probably the one Roxy album that gets better and better after every listen. I, especially, love the long intro (over 2 minutes) before Ferry starts singing "Sentimental Fool". "Flesh + Blood" is easily their most underrated album, IMO. The two cover songs hurt its consistency, but everything else on that album is fantastic. "Same Old Scene" (track #3) is probably my all-time favorite song by them simply because of the great keyboard riff that Ferry plays and then the awesome sax solo that Andy MacKay plays later in the song. That is a dude, MacKay, that has probably never (and never will) get his due for being a great musician.
Very good choice!! In my mp3 list I have: Sopranos Theme Song (Woke up this Morning) Queen (various songs) MIB 1 and 2 song theme Alan Parsons (various songs)
Foo Fighters- "In Your Honor" The Jimmi Hendrix Experience- "BBC Sessions" Nirvana- "Nirvana" Yea havent been listening to much music lately. But those 3 have been played more frequently in the past couple weeks
