It's report card time for the Rockets. After 21 games, roughly one quarter of the season, Houston sits at 14-7 and coming off one of their more impressive games to date. They took apart the Golden State Warriors, 105-83 and did so with Jeremy Lin (knee) and Omer Asik (thigh) still sidelined with injuries.

Unfortunately, injuries and inconsistency are probably the words that best describe the season so far for Houston. Dwight Howard is already the only Rockets player to appear in every game. But on the bright side, even with nearly every player on the team getting hurt in some form, none have cost them extended time and none of them, outside of Chandler Parsons' back spasms, appear to be lingering.

    Overall team grade: B
The Rockets' 14-7 record is probably good enough to earn them a B+, but the losses to Utah and Phoenix this past week prevent any bonus points. They have been shuffling line-ups, but the players themselves have said their inconsistent performances have little to do with that, rather they simply haven't played hard enough on some nights. Following five of their seven losses they have come back with wins. The win over the Warriors was a good example of their willingness and desire to put the necessary effort into the game to prevent a long losing streak.

They are fifth in the western conference, but would have home court advantage with the fourth best record.

    Individual grades here:

    I give them a B-.

    - Blowing big leads resulting in losses
    - Still have issues with communicating on defense. (last two games was much better)
    - We turn the ball over entirely too much
    - Thanks to Dwight our freethrow shooting is horrendous. Its getting better though
    - Coach needs to do a better job with in game rotation
    - Our two Superstars need to be more consistent on both ends of the court. (last two games they were marvelous.)

B sounds reasonable. They've turned the corner at home with the exception of the Phoenix game. Since that Clippers loss(and not coincidentally since ditching the Twin Towers lineup), they've been burying teams in the first quarter in Toyota Center. A lot of games aren't even close.

The main problem remains closing. They seem to have no problem building leads even on the road in tough arenas(Spurs and Mavs for example). But finishing is another matter entirely. They blew a huge lead against San Antonio before rallying and hanging on to win. And I don't think I have to recount what happened in Dallas.

The good news is they looked a lot better in late November than in early November. And once they resolve the Asik situation and get Lin healthy, they'll improve even more. If they stay healthy, commit to playing defense, and don't take the lousy teams lightly, sky's the limit.

    This.

You can tell when they're on the air that the "Gentleman" couldn't care less if the Rockets fell into a pit. They're football fans and it's pretty obvious.

Adam is doing a pretty good job to report the Rockets. The problem is that the guy named Lance is just acting like an idiot at the time. One morning, Lance was joking around for a Russian woman for around 15 min, all you can heard was HaHa, bla, bla whenever I returned to the station. To me, it was embarrassing for a public ratio station.

Lance is a disgrace to 790AM and Houston sports. He is all about football. At least Adam makes an attempt to talk Rockets but this fool Lance either knows nothing about basketball or is least interested. He rather talk about some random story than the Rockets.

Houston sports radio in general is Texans talk 24/7. Fans just aren't knowledgeable about anything else in this town, and I use the term "knowledgeable" very loosely. I'm as big a fan of football as anybody out there, but there's a reason I rarely listen to sports radio, and it's because 95% of callers are completely clueless when it comes to anything other than the Texans.

Anyways, back on topic, I think a B is a pretty good grade so far. There have been obvious growing pains, but that was to be expected considering this is the first time many of these players have played with a true big man. The encouraging factor here is that the team looks significantly better now than it did at the beginning of the month, so I'm hoping that the improvement continues as the players continue to learn how to mesh. This is a fun time to be a Rockets fan.

Last I heard, he was running a human trafficking ring and brothel out the back of his boat (named "Ho's Paradi$e") docked in the Houston ship channel, where he also moves his crack-cocaine shipments.

    He's also part-timing at a Sugar Land Arby's

Don't hate on Lance, that's just the landscape of Houston sports radio now. The debate on who the next Texans coach will be has more drama and ratings attached to it than how the Rockets are going to match up against, say, Portland.

They really don't know what they are talking about on 790 anymore, it's actually sad.

Through 21 games, I give us a B+ or A-. We really grew way quicker than I thought we would, that goes for record and also just how cohesive we already seem to be (not saying we are perfect by any stretch though). I thought we would struggle way more than we have but we seem to be just figuring out the growing pains rather quickly.
