Unless Sarah Palin was trying to suggest that Down syndrome infants/kids have been disproportionally abandoned or neglected in liberal-leaning American families -- which I have yet to see, the antics of using Trig by her (and her supporters) in political rallies are more disturbing than the criticisms ridiculing such antics.

Exactly. She's using her children (all of them, so nobody gets offended) to show that she is a "regular person." It's kind of taking advantage of them, in a small way. In other news, I ABSOLUTELY HATE how people think that because Palin has a special needs child, she has been this huge advocate for special needs children all her life. In fact, before she had Trig, she voted against extra funding for special needs programs - something that they are now campaigning for.
No, but when you're a VP candidate of a major party and you choose to go into a store with press in tow, it becomes political. And don't tell me you believe that she is the only one who could have bought the diapers. There's a gaggle of young Republican aides who would have jumped at the chance to go buy diapers for her.
