It’s funny how time can erase even the harshest of memories. Between 1982-1984, they were 6-35 and twice - *twice!* - lost 17 in a row, and lost 23 in a row on the road. After losing to Oakland in the Wildcard game in 1980, they went 23-66 over he next six seasons, including 4 consecutive seasons of double-digit losses. And that’s not even their worst stretch. Between 1972-1973, the Oilers were a combined 2-26 and lost 18 straight games. Overall, they were 7-45-1 between 1970-1973. The Texans have certainly had far more downs than ups – but they’ve never traveled to the deep, horrible depths that the Oilers often did.
I'm not a Texans fan. I left Houston in 91 and was a big Oilers fan until the team left town. But, I am happy for Texans fans, and agree that you have earned the right to enjoy every minute of this season, and hopefully get the Superbowl win that the Oilers never got.
