The pig scoop makes sense. We only have four "power" players, i.e., players at the 4/5: 1. Yao 2. Cato 3. MoT 4. EG In other words, we only have two "power" players, since our power forwards are finesse players. So Pig would make sense. Also, we are going to need some IR players. I hope the Moochie scoop is correct - it would be great if he could return to his pre-contract form. I would hate to see him go the way of Maloney. And thanks for the info, BV.
The scoop was right on for this part, but then Pig tore a hammy: http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/sports/bk/bkn/2132273 Oct. 2, 2003, 12:48AM Rockets summary Bad break Back when the Rockets were collecting physical frontcourt players, they considered Anthony "Pig" Miller a natural fit. He had been training at Westside Tennis Club when he was offered a non-guaranteed contract and a chance to make the team. But on the morning Miller had planned to accept the offer, Sept. 23, he tore a hamstring hours before he was scheduled to sign a contract. While the Rockets have gone through the first days of training camp this week, Miller has been forced to go through his rehabilitation alone nearby. "I was about to sign," Miller said. "They just told me to stay ready. You never know what might happen."
But it was not reported in the media that the Rockets were even interested in him until today (oct 2nd). It is highly probable that he heard the news one day and reported it the next. The person he heard the news from may not have known that Pig had torn his hamstring. It is just to big of a coincedence not to believe the guy.
