The only thing of concern I heard about WH is that getting service/repair could be a problem. Otherwisse, people seem happy with the sets.
The only thing I have been unhappy about is that my 4 years old hit one dead center with a Wii remote and I can't order a replacement screen yet. So, it sits in the garage, perfectly good, except for the screen. My wife is begging me to get rid of it, but I KNOW that somewhere someone will trash one with another problem on it, and I can put the screen in mine and be as good as new. DD
westinghouse makes great lcd tv's but a 32" tv is way too small for a living room. keep in mind that these tv's are widescreen so a 32" doesn't appear as big as your normal 4:3 aspect ratio 32" tv. you will want at least a 42" tv for your living room.
Umm, how do you replace a TV screen? I am not saying it can't be done but am dumbfounded at attempting to replace one.
I got my smaller westinghouse lcd from here. No problems and generally much better deals than Best Buy. There's a 37 inch 1080p Westinghouse for sale for $559. i can't complain one bit with my purchase to date.
Obviously. 2008 models with higher resolutions are coming out. You can now get a 40'' Samsung 1080i for 800. That's cheap enough, but I recommend you keep waiting. Last week Fry's had Sony rear projection LCD's on sale. 42'' for $500, 50'' for $600, and 55'' for $700. My roommate has the 42'' (from 3 years ago) and it's a beautiful picture. My 61'' Samsung DLP is outdated too. I'm waiting another year or two before I upgrade. I'm not too fond of Westinghouse's display (go to Best Buy and compare the picture to a Samsung, Panasonic, Sharp, and Sony and you'll know exactly what I mean). Looking at AVS forum, some of the 37'' have way too many problems. If you're making an investment on a TV, get at least a 40'' and good name brand. The extra 300-400 bucks will be worth it, trust me. BTW, for someone who lives off good deals, this one is nothing special... Also, if you haven't alread, switch to ATT U-verse (if it's in your area). IT'S THE MOST AMAZING CABLE I HAVE EVER SEEN!!!!
eCost also gets some of the worst ratings as a retailer online. Go to resellerratings.com and nextag.com and check out their reviews... I'm not a huge fan of Best Buy, but they're angels compared to eCost.
Can you clarify how it's the "most amazing"...I assume you're talking about Picture Quality (PQ)...how is the audio (in comparision) in your estimatation?

So I need to wait all the way until Christmas? Man, U-Verse is not available in my area..dammit......
You can keep waiting for months... prices are dropping every month as newer technology is coming out. Just buy the dang thing.
I just got a 40 inch Sony v3000 today for $1600 at J&R. Pondering what to get next... (I have a Wii and PS2... so a 360 or PS3 is probably on the list for next month...).
