Ginobili's toe on the line seems like such a strawman. He still gave Waiters plenty of space.

The question is, when did Ginobili go over the line, before or after the elbow?

We inbounded the ball and they stole it.

Ball got thrown up, Kevin lost his footing & fell down. Not sure if he got fouled. (Waiters/Ginobili)I don't know that part. I apologize, I don't know what you're talking about.

    Donovan playing dumb.

people go over the line all the time like ginobili did. but i suppose you can't complain about shove if you go over the line.

Gotta respect the balls on Waiters.

If the rule is you can't go over the line, it's illegal, regardless of they never call it.

Ginobili foot over the line is a violation not a foul.

Waiters blatantly pushing Ginobili is a foul.

    Big difference.

His left foot stepped out of bounds like, 2 seconds (real time) before he got elbowed.

He's a former basketball player who's played in huge games. It's hard not to be objective about, what could be, a series-changing call.

Plus, as another poster alluded to, I'd rather the color guy be actually colorful, instead of acting dumbfounded and being completely silent.

Who cares? The spurs had a golden opportunity regardless, I think they had a better shot at it then if they called timeout, there was lane open for a layup for goodness sake.

If you watch closely, he barely touches Ginobli. Ginobli sells it like he always does

You can see the ref holding up 3 fingers for the 5 second count, so yes it's in his hand.

I think going over the line is pretty common, like you said. I don't think it impacts the call unless Ginobili makes contact with the ball when he's out of bounds. His toe was on the line for one step, so it's not like he was violating Waiters's space long enough to call a violation on Ginobili.

By the time the shove happens, Ginobili is back in correct position. That's the only thing that matters at that time.

Agreed. It's going to be interesting what the NBA says in it's 2 minute report.

assuming "at the time" was supposed to be "at the rim", then harden is a much better finisher at the rim than westbrook. westbrook tends to be out of control because he's going too fast and misses quite a few layups.

Excusable for the ref to miss all the circumstantial violations that happened (including Manu on the line)

Totally inexcusable and inexplicable for the ref to ignore Waiters

However, L2M report should include ALL that extra activity

    Simple as that

    ------

By the way, I can't help but laugh at Ginobili flopping on that play. It's almost as if his reputation finally came to work against him

I thought they had an easy one watching it live. Terrible pass by Green.

It's kind of like a lane violation. Happens occasionally but not called.

But it is relevant to the discussion because it's still a missed call.

So the first missed call was not calling Ginobili for being over the line. The second was the push. Given SAS actually benefitted more... Imo... A reset would reset the inbound and the ref would be sure Ginobili was being less aggressive... It seems to have benefitted the Spurs.

Need to see another angle of that play with the ball in waiters hand

Also, why the hell did Donovan call the final timeout BEFORE the inbounds?
